Well, for those of you who want to delete the file without verifying the item location, below is a quick video tutorial showing you how to delete the item in question. Before you get to the video, you will need to understand a bit about the Windows CMD. To access Windows CMD, click the file or directory Start, open Run...Once the Run... prompt opens, enter CMDinto the data field. Click OK. As you might have guessed, CMD stands for command. The Windows CMD interface is akin to the Linux Command Line Interface. Once the CMD dialogue opens, you will need to understand the following commands. 1. cdchanges the active working directory within CMD. 2. /d is the directory command within CMD. It alerts CMD to the directory of change. 3. dir allows users to view the available files and directories within the current directory. It allows for a list to populate. 4. /x displays the short names of generated file names. Think of the /x command as a list of abbreviated file names. 5. rmdir is the remove directory command. It removes active directories within Windows. Use this command with caution. 6. /q runs the rmdir command in quiet mode. It acts to delete directories without prompted confirmation. 7. /s removes specified directories and every subdirectory held within. Does it boot in Safe Mode or not at all? Any error messages when you tried to re-install Windows? I'm assuming you tried to because you tried to format the drive. If your BIOS has a drive scan utility, you should run that. Or possibly there is a utility disk you can download from the PC vendor or the drive vendor.
