Hello, I need help using https://www.gidforums.com/t-4218.html graphics. I have Borland Turbo C++ 3.0 and whenever I try to use a graphics screen, I get the error, “Device driver file not found (EGAVGA.bgi).” The file egavga.big exists in the BGI folder, but the http://www.delphigroups.info/2/25/388348.html computer will not read it. I placed a copy of egavga.bgi into each of the zipped-up folders, but I still can not use graphics, even after I reinstalled the Turbo C++ 3.0. LOL, I also tried not found all of the different options under libraries etc. The directories section looked like it might be important in this puzzle, but I was unable to figure anything out. Finally, I tried using Google to investigate this problem, but could not come to a solution. Somehow, it seems that a mysterious program called “BGIOBJ.exe” residing in the BGI folder may be somehow connected to this strange problem in some way I do not graphic error device understand; however, I am not too sure. I keep double-clicking on it but it just turns the screen black for a second. Maybe it is supposed to be triggered while the program is still running. Does anyone here know much about these sorts of things? Any help would be greatly appreciated! #2 01-Dec-2004, 01:47 WaltP Outstanding Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Midwest US Posts: 3,435 Are you using calls to registerbgidriver() and/or initgraph()? It's really hard to tell what might be wrong with knowing what you're doing. __________________ Definition: Politics Latin, from poly meaning many and tics meaning blood sucking parasites -- Tom Smothers #3 01-Dec-2004, 14:37 Jags New Member Join Date: May 2004 Posts: 13 Quote: Originally Posted by FeebleWizard Hello, I need help using graphics. develop a program to show some graphics by using VGA mode in a console window, the program informed me with following error msg: "Graphics System Error: Device Driver file not found (EGAVGA.bgi)". Then i thought i should set DEVICE=C:\TC\BGI\EGAVGA.bgi in my config.sys, so it would be loaded when needed. But as soon as i restarted my PC, win95 wouldnt load anymore. So i had to undo my changes in the config.sys, and now i still cant execute my program. Does anyone know how to fix my problem?? EH Delphi Developer Fri, 16 Jan 2004 22:42:50 GMT Re:Graphics System Error: Device Driver file not found (EGAVGA.bgi) The problem is that: 1) EGAVGA.bgi is not a DOS device driver but a BGI graphic driver 2) try to add SET BGI=C:\TC\BGI\ in your AUTOEXEC.bat file or but all BGI related files (i.e. EGAVGA.bgi, *.CHR) and the program in the same directory "PredeX"
