Let me start from the beginning describing my problem and then telling you guys ( and girls ) what i have found out so far. I have http://forums.msexchange.org/404_-_File_or_directory_not_found/m_1800506659/tm.htm installed Server 2008 with the latest updates and so on. Then i installed AD and DNS. Again updates. Then i installed IIS, but i did not install ASP in the beginning, forgot it. Then i installed exchange 2007 and after installing the last features it needed i was ready and finished with the installation. But then it started. As i though i just go to my https://localhost/owa i got a popup where i needed to fill in my credentials for logging in. But to bad, i just got an error. As i must add, the error is different logging in locally then logging in remotely ( connecting to the web access page owa ). Locally i get the popup telling me this when i try logging in: HTTP Error 404.17 - Not Found The requested content appears to be script and will not be served by the static file handler. Detailed Error Information Module StaticFileModule Notification ExecuteRequestHandler Handler StaticFile Error Code 0x80070032 Requested URL https://localhost:443/owa/auth/logon.aspx?url=https://localhost/owa/&reason=0 Physical Path E:\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\owa\auth\logon.aspx Logon Method Anonymous Logon User Anonymous Ok, so then i tried it remotely, after my own pc cause

Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now Hi All, We have an on-premises Exchange 2007 SP2 server running on Server 2008 Standard, which we are in the process of migrating to Office 365 for Education using MigrationWiz. Our public IP address is changing at the end of the month, so to be ahead of any issues, we file or directory asked out local telecoms provider (domain registrars) to point our domain records to our new IP (which is already accessible). Once that happened, our OWA address has stopped working externally. Internal DNS takes care of the OWA address so there are no issue within our network for people accessing their mail. Outlook, smartphones and web mail all work as normal within our office network. Externally, however, secure connections to OWA result in the IIS 7 splash screen, which then redirects to a "404 Not Found" page. The 404 error does not look like the typical IIS error page, it is simply a plain white page that says "404 Not Found" at the center top position. Using http to access OWA rather than https works as normal. I believe there could be a couple of reason why our https access is not working: 1. SSL key needs to be re-keyed - can't imagine this is the case though since the server's I address/hast name has not changed. I don't think SSL certs are tied to an IP, just common name. 2. We are using a Peplink 580 load balancer to distribute 5 HSBB connections across th
I ran into a couple times. When a someone tries to access their remote web access portal, they get an error. After putting in their credentials the remote web access portal will begin to load then all of a sudden they will get the following error. Server Error 404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Sometimes this error indicates something more serious, but recently I have found that you will get this error because of an Internet Explorer 11 and remote web access incompatibility. The first thing to do is check which version of Internet Explorer you are using. Go to the Gear icon and click about Internet Explorer. Check if you are running Internet Explorer 10 or 11. If you are , add your remote web access URL into the compatibility mode list. Here are the steps to add the site into Compatibility View. Click the gear icon and select the Compatibility View Settings options. Add your website to the Compatibility View list and hit Close. Refresh your tab and see if that makes a difference, it did for me. This was posted by techspeeder.
