The site loads successfully on another analyst's machine, so that's not the problem. I've done any number of things to get this to server error 404 file or directory not found work right: 1) Verifying my applicationHost config file 2) Changing my http port to 81. 3) Activating the cgi software. I'm running IIS 7 on Windows 7, and using application pool ASP.Net 4.0. At this point I have no idea where to go next. I found an article by Ken Schaefer that addresses what I think you’re talking about. I didn’t really understand the gobblygook that he refers to, but did run the icacls executable that he mentioned, on

When I go to http://localhost/AppNam, it gives me a 404 not found. The application is running under the default site in IIS and so I don't see why I woudl get this. The Web Application under the default website is pointed to the right directory where our default.aspx is. Reply BSolveIT Contributor 2483 Points 634 Posts Re: Localhost site 404 IIS 7 Aug 21, 2009 06:53 PM|BSolveIT|LINK If it's the default web, then you don't need to add "AppName" to the end of the URL. Try just http://localhost Or http://127.0.0.1. If the latter works, but not the first, localhost, then you'll need to update your hosts file, and add an entry for localhost that points to 127.0.0.1 Cheers, BSolveIT Website Design If you get an answer to a question, please mark it as the answer.
