He can't recall doing anything. So it goes. I think "whatever", downloaded the latest Catalyst drivers, and try to install it, only to get the message "INF Error, Video Driver Not Found" and then "Try to set up your adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup". I tried googling for info (apparently it's a common-ish issue), but I never found anything that worked. I tried uninstalling anything ATI and then installing, to no avail. I tried uninstalling the error-listed VGA adapter from the Device Manager and then running install whic

Installed an ATI Radeon 9200 graphics card on my computer today. Got the cd all installed. When I start up the computer, all the not found preliminary stuff loads, the loading screen that says "Windows XP" with the little progress bar does its thing, and then the screen goes black, says no signal, and the monitor goes off. It works in safe mode, so I've been trying to install all the drivers I can for the card, but they keep giving me error messages, including saying that DirectX 8 isn't installed, even though my DirectX is completely up to date. I inf error video also get the error "INF error. Video driver not found." Then it tells me "Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to set up your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup." I have no clue what to do anymore. Suggestions? If you were previously using onboard video, make sure to enter the BIOS & disable it. There *may* be a setting for "shared memory"...set that to NONE. And look for a setting called "Initial display" (or something similar) & change that to PCI or AGP, depending on which slot your card uses. You need to go into safe mode & delete the drivers you installed. Then boot into normal mode & let Windows automatically load the standard VGA driver. THEN you can install the ATI drivers. Here's the driver you should be using:http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownlo... Report • #2 Fuzion August 21, 2010 at 11:54:03 Alright, i went into safe mode and deleted all the drivers. Rebooted regular, and everything actually showed up, definitely a step in the right direction. But then I installed the catalyst, it said it needed to reboot to finish everything, and when I rebooted, instead of the signal bei

(I kept the old drive connected, but it's not set to be the boot drive.) The two problems I had were sound and video drivers - with sound, the system kept telling me I didn't have a card. So I pulled it out and put it in another PCI slot and then the system detected it and they lived happily ever after. But with my ASUS Radeon 9200SE graphics card, the Microsoft drivers downloaded by default. Now when I try to install the latest drivers from the ASUS site, I get 'INF Error. Video Driver Not Found' followed a message about attempting to use VGA drivers first, followed by another message 'graphics card not found.' So I went to the ATI site and downloaded the latest drivers and they installed without a problem. So I tried the ASUS driver again, and I got the same errors. Clearly there's something wrong if it can't find my graphics card. Here are my specs: Intel Pentium 4 2.4c Ghz (Bx80532pg2400d) W/512k Cache 800mhz Abit Vi7 Via Pt800 Chipset Serial Ata150 Atx Form Factor 1xagp Multiwave 256mb Pc3200 400mhz Non-Ecc Ddr Dimm 40 GB Samsung SATA drive 80 GB Western Digital Caviar ATA drive Asus Radeon 9200se-T Enermax Cs-5171lbfs-S Mid Tower W/350w Atx Power Supply Incidentally I did try to uninstall old and install new in safe mode, but that didn't work either.
