First my system specs: Powercolor Radeon 9800 SE AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Asus A7N8X motherboard WindowsXP os It tends to freeze a lot while playing games (like many here are having the same problems!). To get to the point, I thought that updating the driver may help solve this problem. After downloading the driver from this url http://www2.ati.com/drivers/wxp-w2k-catalyst-7-91-030625a-010027c-efg.exe and attempting to install (after deleting display drivers provided on my cd with my card) i get this error when trying to install INF Error. Video Driver Not Found What can I do about this? I searched the ATi website http://www.ati.com/support/infobase/3659.html which basicly said POWERED BY ATI products are manufactured using ATI components but by another manufacturer. These products are distinguished by the POWERED BY ATI logo on the product packaging. ATI software installers on ATI Installation CDs, as well as those posted on the ATI website for "BUILT BY ATI" products are NOT meant to work with POW

He can't recall doing anything. So it goes. I think "whatever", downloaded the latest Catalyst drivers, and try to install it, only to get the message "INF Error, Video Driver Not Found" and then "Try to inf error video set up your adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup". I tried googling for info (apparently it's a common-ish issue), but I never found anything that worked. I tried uninstalling anything ATI and then installing, to no avail. I tried uninstalling the error-listed VGA adapter from the Device Manager and then running install which didn't work. Rebooting after that also didn't work (it popped up with "New hardware found" after the reboot, but it couldn't find the proper drivers). After an unedifying series of adventures I got to http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/download/dld/spt_dld_detail.php?UID=45&kind=1 which has several drivers for my mobo. I first downloaded (obviously) the VGA driver, and tried to run setup. Unfortunately, after preparing the install, an Error message pops up saying "The system cannot detect the device, please confirm that the device is configured properly and restart the setup program." I then tried downloading the AGP upgrade, installed it, but nothing changed. I also downloaded the BIOS update, since it mentioned a VGA upgrade, but I'm uncomfortable with upgrading the BIOS if it's possible that that's not the main issue. I've tried using add/remove programs to remove any ATI from my comput

The Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. Please update your ATI graphics driver, or enable your ATI adapter using the display manager. The graphics adapter in question is ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT. Up until the reboot everything had worked fine. I can use most applications as usual. The only thing that is affected is games that won't start and give a similar error message. I have tried un- and reinstalling the drivers as well as Catalyst Control Center, but it doesn't help. If it makes any difference I have Vista 32 on this particular partition. When reinstalling I used the drivers from the CD I got with the purchase. I have two OS': Linux Mint (no problems whatsoever) and Vista 32 on separate partitions. Seeing that it's Vista 32 that's having problems, I would need the drivers for that OS. m 0 l Related resources Driver sweeper found nvidia files on an ati chipset - Forum Driver problem?
