Lex.yy.c Error 127

2005, 11:55 PMI was recently digging through some old files on my Windows PC, old programming files as it happened. I'd lex: not found downloaded them many years ago from a Necromunda site (the wargame produced yacc command not found ubuntu by Games Workshop). At the time I'd had no idea what they were, but somehow they never got

deleted and I found them today. Under Windows I could make neither head nor tail of them, however, when I whacked them over onto my Linux laptop, wham, I could

see it was code. Upon googling, I discovered that the site I'd downloaded from still existed, even though it was now nine years old.. Andy Cowell's Necromunda Page (http://www.cowell.org/~andy/min/nec/) I tried to compile this code using gcc and cc but I got the following error: flamekebab@ubuntuHbBob:~/apps/e$ ls Makefile main.c nec.lex nec.y necro.h flamekebab@ubuntuHbBob:~/apps/e$ gcc Makefile /usr/bin/ld: crt1.o: No such file: No byacc such file or directory collect2: ld returned 1 exit status flamekebab@ubuntuHbBob:~/apps/e$ Now don't get me confused, I know only of programming and about it. I can talk about it, but I can't actually DO it, having tried and failed (I find thinking in the manner required to program very difficult). However, I'd appreciate if any kind soul would like to help me in my quest to make this program run! Best regards, Benjamin Fox cwaldbieserJuly 31st, 2005, 12:31 AMTry just typing "make" in the directory. The Makefile should tell the other tools how to build everything else. If you are lucky, there won't be any missing libraries and everything will work fine. If not... is there a README.txt or an INSTALL file with the program? Marco/Katrin] Messages sorted by: [ date ] [ thread ] [ subject ] [ author ] Hi, >From below: > flex -t mm_options.l | sed 's/yy/mmo/g' > lex.mm_options.c > /bin/sh: flex: command not found This is the source of the problem; a lexical analyzer generator http://mailman.docking.org/pipermail/dock-fans/2006-July/000674.html is required to build dock. Here are some things to try: 1. search for flex on https://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2008-07/msg00199.html your machine, eg, the command: locate flex (on many Linux's flex is /usr/bin/flex) 2. download and install flex 3. search for lex on your machine and if found then edit install/config.h and change LEX= flex to LEX= lex Also for completeness what are the compiler and OS versions ?
