Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now I installed a GoDaddy certificate, making the mistake of following GoDaddy exchange 2013 owa 404 file or directory not found instructions for Exchange 2007. It includes using Exchange Management Shell's "Import-ExchangeCertificate -Path c:\locationOfCertFile" and "Enable-ExchangeCertificate -Thumbprint xxxxxxxx -Services "SMTP, IMAP, IIS"" commands. Now OWA is inaccessible. I cannot connect to the server to retrieve mail. On the server itself, "https://remote.server.com/owa"; results in a 404 Not Found--"The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."
After researching further, I found these instructions: http://sbs.seandaniel.com/2009/02/installing-godaddy-standard-ssl.html. I ran through the instructions from scratch. It involves only importing the intermediate certificate and using the SBS wizard to "Add a Trusted Certificate". However, the 404 Not Found error continues. I've also recently installed an Exchange 2007 rollup, but the certificate was expiring at the same time, so I don't know if something else caused this problem. Any ideas on how to repair this problem? I would appreciate it. On the SBS Server > Click Start > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager > Expand {server name} file or directory > Sites > Expand SBS Web Applications > Ensure "owa" is listed below > Notice this site is in a stopped state (indicated by the arrow). 2. If you try and start the site it will probably complain that the port is in use (Look upwards and you will see the "Default Web Site" is running and will be using the same ports). 3. To stop the Default Web Site (if it's running) Select "Site" > Right click "Default Web Site" > Manage Web Site > Stop. 4. The to Start the "SBS Web Applications" site, Select "Site" > Right click "SBS Web Applications" > Manage Web Site > Start. Want to Advertise Here? Solved How do I resolve issues with Exchange 2007 OWA 404 Not Found, ActiveSnyc, and Outlook Anywhere RPC? Posted on 2008-02-08 Exchange 1 Verified Solution 15 Comments 7,900 Views Last Modified: 2010-04-21 System: Windows Server 2003 R2 64 Bit Exchange 2007, Exchange 2007 SP1 Installed Clean Installs (No Imports/Migrations) These problems all started with another software vendor's install program installing .net 2.0 framework. I was able to correct those problems since W3WP will run/load. I was able to access OWA, ActiveSync, and so on for a short time, after a reboot, everything went to heck. I've since removed that program from the system. I tried disabling and reenabling Outlook Anywhere, except upon reenabling, I'm receiving this error: Error: The virtual directory 'Rpc' already exists under 'server.Domain.com/Default Web Site'. Parameter name: VirtualDirectoryName Exchange Management Shell command attempted: enable-OutlookAnywhere -Server 'SERVER' -ExternalHostname 'server.domain.com' -DefaultAuthenticationMethod 'Basic' -SSLOffloading $false I have uninstalled and reinstalled RPC, I've deleted and recreated the OWA virtual directory, but now I'm getting 404 File Not Found when accessing OWA. ActiveSync clients receive "Your account in Microsoft Exchange Server does not have permission to synchronize with your current settings." My overall goal is to setup a different web site (other than the default) and name it "outlook.domain.com" for OWA access. At this point, we're down hard, users are viewing emails thru our spam filtering appliance as the exchange server is off-site. 0 Question by:FrankHolzkamp Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL
