My first problem was that ActiveSync stopped to work, when I tried to solve this problem I recreate all Virtual Directories in the IIS by following the instructions on the URL (http://my.opera.com/RavenOverride/blog/2009/06/17/how-to-recreate-all-virtual-directories-for-exchange-2007). The only problem I had following these instructions was the last part where I should use

appcmd.exe to disable KernalMode. After that I now have a bigger problem L When I try to access the OWA I always get a http error 404. I try to open the URL: http://srapp01.[domain].com/owa and automatically gets redirected to http://srapp01.[domain].com/owa/auth/logon.aspx?url=http://srapp01. [domain].com/owa&reason=0 and then I get the 404 error. I have checked the IIS log file and there I also se the 404 error. I have a GoDaddy certificate installed that has been working without problems I have not made any changes to the certificate settings so I don’t think that is the problem. I have run out of ides’ what to do, I hope anyone have some suggestions. is no relevant article or blog available so I am posting. Many blogs are talking about exchange 2010 owa 404 replacing applicationhost.config file from backup. I would not recommend to follow it unless you are aware the backup is new and there is relevant change was down https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/83c3c24a-82c5-4afc-bf8b-9bd09ea9fedf/http-error-404-while-trying-to-access-owa?forum=exchangesvrclientslegacy after this. Old backup can change your current configuration. Infrastructure: 2 CAS/Hub Transport servers. 2 DC 2 mailbox role in DAG I was configuring Windows NLB for them. Issue: After Configuring WNLB one CAS server was unable to browse OWA/ECP and giving the following error. ‘HTTP Error 404. The requested resource http://msexchangeguru.com/2015/08/03/e2010-http-error-404/ is not found.' Resolution: Default website was stopped for some reason and this is not normal so you would not think of this and troubleshoot IIS. Started default website and OWA/ECP started working. Conclusion: Stick to the basics. Prabhat Nigam Microsoft MVP | Exchange Server Team@MSExchangeGuru Posted August 3rd, 2015 under Exchange 2010. Tags: HTTP Error 404. Let me start from the beginning describing my problem and then telling you guys ( and girls ) what i have found out so far. I have installed Server 2008 with the latest updates and so file or directory on. Then i installed AD and DNS. Again updates. Then i installed IIS, but i did not install ASP in the beginning, forgot it. Then i installed exchange 2007 and after installing the last features it needed i was ready and finished with the installation. But then it started. As i though i just go to my https://localhost/owa i got a popup where i needed to fill in my credentials for logging in. But to bad, i just got an error. As i must add, the error is different logging in locally then logging in remotely ( connecting to the web access page owa ). Locally i get the popup telling me this when i try logging in: HTTP Error 404.17 - Not Found The requested content appears to be script and will not be served by the static file handler.
