Oct 26 '07 #1 Post Reply Share this Question 4 Replies P: 77 helimeef Well, my first tip is to get rid of Internet Explorer and switch to Firefox. It will be much faster and nicer, and it supports what we call "standards", that every browser besides IE object expected error in node js follows for our coding to be consistent for every browser. Now, for the errors. These are all JavaScript errors, and although they are professional programmers, they are inevitable. Google has 50 errors, Digg has 70 errors, etc. Microsoft decided to be stupid and throw the errors in users' faces... Just ignore them and use Firefox, because frankly, Internet Explorer Sucks. Scroll down till you see a check box with the label, 'disable script debugging'. Make sure that one IS checked. The next one (or somewhere near it), that says 'Notify about every script error' should NOT be checked. That is how your friend's computer is set up, and why he doesn't get any warnings. Oct 27 '07 #4 reply P: 1 123cool321 Basically, all you have to do is go to Tools on your interenet explorer page, then interenet options. Then go to advanced and click on "restore defaults". Press apply then OK and you should be done. Oct 27 '07 #5 reply Message Cancel Changes Post your reply Join Now >> Sign in to post your reply or Sign up for a free account. Turns out Internet Explorer chokes if you use anything other than "javascript" in the language attribute of the script tag. I was using version numbers appended onto javascript in the language attribute, which was causing IE not to load prototype.js. share|improve this answer answered Jun 27 '09 at 6:37 anonymous coward 7,38194774 add a comment| up vote 2 down vote Are you sure that this: $("icImgDiv" + icAlternate()) returns a reference to an element? If so, have you tried using Microsoft Script Debugger / Visual Studio to debug when and where the exception is raised? share|improve this answer answered Jun 4 '09 at 9:49 PatrikAkerstrand 32.4k55886 add a comment| up vote 2 down vote Also check that the script tag's type is "text/javascript".
