I am running a report within Access and have set up a label within the detail line to list all results by sequence no. The code I am using is: Private Sub Detail_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer) xx = xx + 0 LblSeqNo.Caption = CStr(xx) If Movement = 1 Then Movement.Visible = True Else Movement.Visible = False End If End Sub But receive the error: Run Time Error 424 "Object Required" in debug this refers to my second movement line. You also use dim question as long, this confuses me a bit because I thought long meant an integer (there are min and max values but I cant remember). share|improve this answer edited Nov 12 '15 at 14:56 answered Nov 12 '15 at 14:50 LiamH 1,1831526 Well spotted! @joao: please add Option Explicit t

Microsoft Access Run-Time Error '424' Object Required P: 1 ryanwood17 In my database, I have a search form in which I am trying to allow users to double click on an entry in the search form which will open another form to allow for edits. I am getting a Run-time '424' object required error. When debugging the code, it stops on the second line below. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks, Ryan. Instead of trying to set focus to the form, you can use the open form command. Try adding this in: Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers PrivateSubLstSearchResults_DblClick(CancelAsInteger) Docmd.OpenForm"frmTry" 'Findtherecordthatmatchesthecontrol. DimrsAsDAO.Object Setrs=[Forms]![frmTry].Recordset.Clone rs.FindFirst"tblHardwareMaster.[DBID]="&Form_HardwareSearch.LstSearchResults.Column(0) IfNotrs.EOFThen [Forms]![frmTry].Bookmark=rs.Bookmark EndIf EndSub I've also changed your references to the form to one that use the Forms collection.
