Every time it runs, it gives me an "object required" error. This is contained within a greater module, but this is the only aspect of it that is giving compile error object required vba me a problem. Basically, I want "maker" to be equivalent to the contents of a text box named B on form A. Any suggestions? vba ms-access share|improve this question asked Dec 18 '12 at 13:51 user1706975 105410 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 5 down vote accepted Do not use Set unless you are assigning an object: Dim maker as String Maker = Forms![A]![B] For an object: Dim maker as Form Set Maker = Forms![A] share|improve this answer answered Dec 18 '12 at 13:53 Fionnuala 77.2k666111 Worked like a charm. You also use dim question as long, this confuses me a bit because I thought long meant an integer (there are min and max values but I cant remember). share|improve this answer edited Nov 12 '15 at 14:56 answered Nov 12 '15 at 14:50 LiamH 1,1831526 Well spotted! @joao: please add Option Explicit to the top of your module. This doesn't cause the Object Required error though. It will cause other problems down the road. -- Long is a 32bit signed Integer. –Andre Nov 12 '15 at 19:33 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote You need to set a Reference in VBA to Outlook. VBA editor -> menu Tools -> References Select and check Microsoft Outlook 14.0 Object Library Edit: while the above is true, you would probably get a different error

I Have an Access 2000 form. When the account # field is completed it will pull data from an exisiting table to automatically complete three other form fields from the record of the person with the account #. After that there are a few drop down boxes which are completed manually.
