Runtime Error 424 Object Required Vb6
VBA Object Required Error up vote 2 down vote favorite Dim maker as String Set Maker = Forms![A]![B] I can't seem to get this to work. Every time it runs, it gives me an "object required" error. This is contained within a greater module, but this is the only aspect of it that is giving me a problem. Basically, I want "maker" to be equivalent compile error object required vba to the contents of a text box named B on form A. Any suggestions? vba ms-access share|improve this question asked Dec 18 '12 at 13:51 user1706975 105410 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 5 down vote accepted Do not use Set unless you are assigning an object: Dim maker as String Maker = Forms![A]![B] For an object: Dim maker as Form Set Maker = Forms![A] share|improve this answer answered Dec 18 '12 at 13:53 Fionnuala 77.2k666111 Worked like a charm. Solved VBA Error message "Object Required" in Access Database Posted on 2014-08-21 MS Access 1 Verified Solution 11 Comments 1,282 Views Last Modified: 2014-08-21 I have a piece of code I am using to add information entered on a form to a table. When I try to run it, I get an error message object required vba that says "Compile Error: Object Required" and it highlights the line " Set TNAME = Form!frm_Staff.Form!FName & " " & Form!frm_Staff.Form!Lname" Select all Open in new window I think that the piece of code after the equal sign might be the problem, but I don't know what a better way to do this would be. Here is the larger piece of code: Private Sub btn_AddtoTeam_Click() Dim db As DAO.Database Dim rst As Recordset Dim strsql As String Dim TNAME As String Set db = CurrentDb Set rst = db.OpenRecordset(strsql) strsql = "Select Top 1 * from Team" Set TNAME = Form!frm_Staff.Form!FName & " " & Form!frm_Staff.Form!Lname rst.AddNew rst!TeamName = TNAME rst.Update Set rst = Nothing Set db = Nothing Exit Sub End Sub Select all Open in new window Any help will be greatly appreciated. 0 Question by:Megin Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 75 Active today Best Solution byDatabaseMX (Joe Anderson -
