answer that suited my situation. I am coding an Access 2003 form button to run an If/Then and do some commands based on that statement when clicked. However I am getting the 'Object Required' error on every click. I am still relatively new to VBA code, so please be gentle. Here is the code: Private Sub Button_Click() On Error GoTo Err_Button_Click Dim Db As Object Set Db = CurrentDb Dim waveset As DAO.Recordset Set waveset = Db.OpenRecordset("SELECT countervalue FROM dbo_tblSettings") Dim orderfile As String orderfile = "\\serverfolder\serverfile.csv" If Value.waveset > 0 Then MsgBox "Orders Already Imported; Please Proceed to Next Step", vbOKOnly, "Step Complete" GoTo Exit_Button_Click ElseIf Value.waveset = 0 Then DoCmd.RunSQL "DELETE FROM dbo_tblOrders", True DoCmd.TransferText acImportDelim, , "dbo_tblOrders", orderfile, True DoCmd.RunSQL "UPDATE dbo_tblOrders INNER JOIN dbo_MainOrderTable ON dbo_tblOrders.[channel-order-id]=dbo_MainOrderTable.[order-id] " _ & "SET dbo_MainOrderTable.[order-id] = dbo_tblOrders.[order-id], dbo_MainOrderTable.[channel-order-id] = dbo_tblOrders.[channel-order-id], " _ & "dbo_MainOrderTable.[Order-Source] = 'Amazon'" _ & "WHERE dbo_tblOrders.[sal

The code is bigger but I've just stopped on the line where I get the error. You also use dim question as long, this confuses me a bit because I thought long meant an integer (there are min and max values but I cant remember). share|improve this answer edited Nov 12 '15 at 14:56 answered Nov 12 '15 at 14:50 LiamH 1,1831526 Well spotted! @joao: please add Option Explicit to the top of your module. This doesn't cause the Object Required error though. It will cause other problems down the road. -- Long is a 32bit signed Integer. –Andre Nov 12 '15 at 19:33 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote You need to set a Reference in VBA to Outlook. VBA editor -> menu Tools -> References Select and check Microsoft Outlook 14.0 Object Library Edit: while the above is true, you would probably get a different error if the reference was missing.

Solved VBA Error message "Object Required" in Access Database Posted on 2014-08-21 MS Access 1 Verified Solution 11 Comments 1,282 Views Last Modified: 2014-08-21 I have a piece of code I am using to add information entered on a form to a table. When I try to run object required vba it, I get an error message that says "Compile Error: Object Required" and it highlights the line " Set TNAME = Form!frm_Staff.Form!FName & " " & Form!frm_Staff.Form!Lname" Select all Open in new window I think that the piece of code after the equal sign might be the problem, but I don't know what a better way to do this would be. Here is the larger piece of code: Private Sub btn_AddtoTeam_Click() Dim db As DAO.Database Dim rst As Recordset Dim strsql As String Dim TNAME As String Set db = CurrentDb Set rst = db.OpenRecordset(strsql) strsql = "Select Top 1 * from Team" Set TNAME = Form!frm_Staff.Form!FName & " " & Form!frm_Staff.Form!Lname rst.AddNew rst!TeamName = TNAME rst.Update Set rst = Nothing Set db = Nothing Exit Sub End Sub Select all Open in new window Any help will be greatly appreciated. 0 Question by:Megin Facebook Twitter
