PostScript error Limitcheck If you get a PostScript error ‘limitcheck' offending command ‘image', an image in your document is too large, its resolution is too high or it cannot be rotated. Reduce the size or resolution, rotate the image at a different angle or rotate it in an application like Photoshop. Some older error syntax error offending command stack level 2 versions of PostScript RIPs as well as Acrobat Distiller 4.0 (and 4.05 and probably 3.x) cannot handle copydot files in which the number of pixels exceeds 32000 in either direction. Using such big copydot files (eg larger than about 33 centimeters for a 2400 dpi copydot) can lead to a PostScript error "limitcheck" offending command "image". If you get a PostScript error "limitcheck" offending command "image" when printing from InDesign 1.0, the document probably contains a multitone EPS (duotone, tritone,.. ) that uses a spot color. (The https://www.prepressure.com/postscript/troubleshooting/errors/image so-called "Online Ticket" of the "Deutsche Bahn", the german railroad company.) Whenever I try, I get an an almost blank page with only the following: ERROR NAME; ioerror COMMAND; flushfile OPERAND STACK; --filetype-- --arraytype--Printing the same document with evince works just fine. (So, I've got a workaround by saving the document and using evince for printing.) My printer is a Brother MFC7820N, the printer driver is the "MFC7820N BR-Script https://forums.adobe.com/thread/434356 3". (I also tried the postscript driver, but that doesn't work at all, even outside the Adobe Reader.)Any ideas what might be wrong or what I could try? Thanks,Jochen I have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 12800Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Re: ioerror when printing RishiOberoi10 May 18, 2009 1:29 AM (in response to Jochen63) Hi Jochen,Please let me know the following things :1) Are you able to print any other pdf document to the same printer using the driver that you have specified.?2) Also what version of adobe reader are you working on?3) Which linux distribution are you working on?4) I believe your workflow includes opening the pdf document in the browser and priting it to the printer. As this is not happening, you finally download the doc and print using evince. Did you try opening the downloaded document in adobe reader and then print it. Please try this and let us know the result. If the issue still persists, please mail the downloaded doc to rishi at adobe dot com.Regards, Rishi Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. After rebuilding his PC he is unable to print PDF documents. When he tries to, he gets a printout that states: Error: ioerror OFFENDING COMMAND: flushfile Running Adobe Acrobat 8 and printing to a Brother HL-5250DN Issue only occurs on that printer, and only for that user. Unable to update printer driver as it is stored on the Print server. It is out of date. Can get a copy from here... http://www.oldversion.com/Acrobat-Reader.html If you are just using it to read and print PDF , I don't use Adobe. I switch to this... http://www.docu-track.com/downloads/users/ PDF-XChange Viewer v.2.042.4 does about the same thing with out the bloat. sunnyeagle, Sep 11, 2009 #3 slurpee55 Joined: Oct 20, 2004 Messages: 7,837 This provides a decent explanation of what the error means http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~milanek/PostScript/Reference/PStrID1.html I suspect that it is not a network problem, since you would have noticed that in other applications, so it would be more logical that it could be a checksum error, given that you have just rebuilt the PC. First, I would reinstall Adobe, if you haven't already. If that fails, download a checksum program and see if that can fix it, or give you more info. slurpee55, Sep 11, 2009 #4 This thread has been Locked and is not open to further replies.
