more strange behaviour. For example I could not double click any event in my eventvwr (oh, to be clear: double clicking was no problem, but nothing happened after that :) http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_outlook-mso_other/an-ole-registration-error-occurred-the-program-is/7fda7771-90c3-479e-97e3-c4896100dbab ) I could not drag and drop items in Windows Explorer I could nog drag and drop in Microsoft Office Visio 2007 Because of all these problems, the cause had to be an Operating System wide problem. Solution: In my case, I solved it by: Registering ole32.dll Repairing Microsoft Office 2007 Standard and Visio 2007 To register ole32.dll, do http://www.itexperience.net/2010/02/24/fix-an-ole-registration-error-occurred-in-windows-and-outlook-2007/ the following Click Start, click Run, type "cmd" and click OK In the Command Prompt, type Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\Ole32.dll and press Enter A regsvr32 window popups, that tells you that the DllRegisterServer succeeded To repair Office 2007, do the following: Click Start, click Run, type "appwiz.cpl" and click OK Scroll down to Office 2007, click Office 2007 and click Change In the Setup window, choose Repair dllregisterserver ole32.dll Outlook 2007 regsvr32 2 thoughts on “Fix "An OLE registration error occurred" in Windows and Outlook 2007” Johnny says: August 18, 2012 at 6:45 am I did this and still having the problem. Thank you! ole registration error Apr 30, 2008 Flag Post #1 Share DavyDee Guest Hi, I have the same problem, but it exists since installing Outlook 2007 and always occurs when I try to use the Search. The issue is that the message asks me to reinstall the Windows Search, but I have done that already countless times w/o any success. Please assist, thanks! Davy Jun 12, 2008 Flag Post #2 Share LilQ Guest To fix the problem, simply close down outlook. Open windows explorer and navigate to the following path: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook delete and clear all files located in the Outlook folder so that it is empty (username is the name you logged on with eg for me it would be C:\Documents and Settings\lilq\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook). Re-Open Outlook, and outlooks re-creates and updates it's data source and function correctly This should fix the problem. you can also try the following: p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {margin:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial;} p {margin-right:0cm;margin-left:0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman';} @page Secti
a user submitted a support request and was very frustrated. She was using Outlook 2003. Every time she attempted to create a new email message, either from scratch or when replying to someone, she received the following error: This form requires Word as your e-mail editor, but Word is either busy or cannot be found. The form will be opened in the Outlook editor instead. An OLE registration error occurred. The program is not correctly installed. Run setup again for the program. Here's the solution: Shut down Outlook. Go to Start, then Run. If you don't have Run on your Start menu, press the Windows key & R together. Type "regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\ole32.dll" (without the quotes) and hit Ok. The bad system file should now be re-registered. Create a new email message and make sure the issue is resolved.
