Jan 25, 2014 07:44 PM|mychucky|LINK Here's my code. create database myDB on( name = myDB_data, filename = 'C:\Users\myName\SkyDrive\Website\Data\myDB.mdf' ) for attach go I kept getting the Access is denied error. I believed if I create the database in the default location of (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL11.MYDEVELOPER\MSSQL\DATA) I would not get this error. I have been looking at a number of places/threads and some suggested running MS SMS as administrator and I did. I still have the same error. Some suggested adding the account that runs the SQL Database engine to the folder's security tab. However, when I looked at the services.msc, it showed NT Services\MSSQLSERVER as the "This account" under "Log on" tab and there is no such account in the Local Users and Groups. So, I'm stock. Any suggestion is much appreciated. Reply mychucky Member 269 Points 3813 Posts Re: failed with the operating system error 5(Access is denied.) Jan 25, 2014 07:57 PM|mychucky|LINK Okay, I figured out the answer. I have to go into services.msc and change the logon account that sql server database engine was running as. I changed it from NT Services\MSSQLSERVER to LOCAL SERVICE and then add this account to the folder and it works. ‹ Previous Thread|Next Thread › This site is managed for Microsoft by Neudesic, LLC. | © 2016 Microsoft.
