favorite 1 NOTE: I've already looked at reasons for paypal 10544 Gateway Decline error. This is happening in production for us. We use DoDirectPayment and DoReferenceTransaction with our customers to set up a regular payment transactions and when we get failures, the vast majority of them are for this error code. I've asked for details for specific transactions before and was instructed to get our client to contact PayPal directly for avs: g - global unavailable. security reasons, which is understandable. But I was wondering if there was something more to this particular error than the rather vague description implies. E.g. is there some setting in the account settings that causes it to occur more often than it needs to? Is it because we are a Canadian merchant accepting credit cards from other currencies? We don't really like asking our customers to contact PayPal about this because it feels like we're passing the buck. paypal share|improve this question asked May 17 '13 at 18:46 Kyle Baley 168113 please share some of your code with us –radu florescu May 17 '13 at 18:49 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted There is not a lot more specific reason for this error, it is vague due to the number of reasons that can cause this. Usually this is due to an issue with the buyers account or card, in which case the buyer would need to contact PayPal to resolve the issue. share|improve this answer answered May 17 '13 at 19:58 PP_MTS_Chad 6,7191616 add a comment| up vote 2 down vote This is a catch-all for a variety of messages that unfortunately aren't spelled out in the Payflow Gateway

If you're in live (as opposed to sandbox), the sample card numbers they give will no longer work, and you must use a real credit card. With that out of the way, is the account setup for DoDirectPayment? Do you have a certificate? If you're sure everything is setup properly and you're still receiving the error, try posting the actual API request here so we can take a look at your problem. share|improve this answer answered Jan 14 '11 at 6:38 Fibericon 2,40442344 Thanks Fibericon for your valuable reply.I was testing with the sample credit card numbers such as(4111111111111111). I have zen-cart version 1.5.1 I have a PayPal paypal error code business account that has been approved for PayPal Payments Pro, PayPal Express Payments, PayFlow API (full access). I have configured the PayPal Express Checkout and included my API signature and credentials (PayPal mode = PayPal) - this works. I have the old PayFlow Gateway code installed (v 1.3.9) and it works and everything seems fine. However, my concern here is this is old code that probably shouldn't be used anymore and so I'm trying to configure for the proper? code of PayPal Payments Pro. So I disabled the PayFlow Gateway module and have configured the PayPal Payments Pro - for the options it gives me. When I try to process a credit card I get an error (10544) indicating the transaction cannot be processed. Note: this is a test transaction that should decline. When I check in my PayPal Manager account, there is no indication of this transaction anywhere. Here's the log details: 2013-03-20 04:21:37 ------------------- (live transaction) --> https://api-3t.paypal.com/nvp Request Headers: Array ( [0] => Content-Type: text/namevalue [1] => X-VPS-Timeout: 90 [2] => X-VPS-VIT-Client-Type: PHP/cURL [3] => X-VPS-VIT-Integration-Product: PHP::Zen Cart(R) - PayPal/NVP [4] => X-VPS-VIT-Integration-Version: 1.5.1 ) Request Parameters: {DoDirectPayment}
