The installation starts but eventually I get an error in a popup window that says: "The installation failed. The installed encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance." The Adobe live chat guy said they don't help with products that old. Does anybody have any recommendations on how to resolve this? Thanks. 12323Views Tags: none (add) illustratorContent tagged with illustrator, photoshopContent tagged with photoshop, errorContent tagged with error, macContent tagged with mac, elementsContent tagged with elements, cs2Content tagged with cs2, installationContent tagged with installation This content has been marked as final. Intel+Mac is no-go, here. CS6 monthly subscription for single app. is like $20 now (via Creative Cloud), so maybe give it a shot, if you need it. 1 person found this helpful Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. So for a while my sister has been complaining that her Photoshop hasn't been working. I checked it out and the problem is that whenever she tries to open a file or make a new one, the program https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/2566296 comes up with: "Adobe Photoshop Could not complete your request due to a program error." I virus scanned, uninstalled/installed the Photoshop more than 5 times, restarted the computer a million times, and nothing came up. Plus, I tried looking for an answer on photoshop cs2 Google but all that came up was stuff for Macs. Anyone wanna help out? If it does then its something about the user profile giving it fits. If not then the program must be corrupt or there photoshop cs2 error is something system-wide that interfers with that function. Maybe try disabling DEP but that's just a guess to try. There's plenty of free space on the drive? fairnooks, Aug 2, 2009 #2 kaihou Thread Starter Joined: Jan 24, 2009 Messages: 17 Well, I found out that it works on the Guest user profile... so what the heck do I do now? Oh yeah there's a lot of space on the drive. And I have no idea what a DEP is xD kaihou, Aug 2, 2009 #3 slipe Joined: Jun 27, 2000 Messages: 6,832 Try Ctrl+Alt+Shift when you boot the program. It should let you reset to preferences to default. That might not fix the problem, but it is an easy thing to try. slipe, Aug 2, 2009 #4 kaihou Thread Starter Joined: Jan 24, 2009 Messages: 17 Nope. No clue what I just did but I felt like I had to do something... Now I can't get whatever popped up before to pop up again. I get through the "Save As" OK, then select the quality level (10) on the JPEG Options screen, then this error comes up.I've already double checked that I don't have a read-only copy of the file. I can save in other formats without problem, this seems to be limited to JPG only. Running under Vista 64 -- I've been working in this environment for about a month or two without difficulty. Can anyone offer any suggestions?-- hide signature -- Alan http://www.skylandsphotography.com http://www.pbase.com/abh http://www.shutterfreaks.com/gallery/abh Reply to thread Reply with quote Complain Buzzzman • Veteran Member • Posts: 3,770 Re: Error saving JPG in Photoshop CS2 In reply to Alan Hartmann • Apr 11, 2009 Never got that message while saving-I use a mac, though.
