Join Now Hi All, For the last see the event user data for context information couple days I noticed something weird on our Remote Desktop Server (running Windows 2008 R2). I had been designing a report in Access and whenever I clicked "Page Setup", the program would crash. Eventually, I noticed that Devices and Printers would never completely load -- the green bar along the top gets most of the way through the "x" at the right, http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/the-print-spooler-failed-to-load-a-plug-in-module/f5ea2d50-519c-4a14-8ceb-b074cd615e28 but never finishes. If I stop the Spooler service, I can see the printers, but if I restart it, I can't. I've only got 5 printers on the machine right now -- Send to OneNote 2010, Quickbooks PDF Converter, Microsoft XPS Document Viewer, CutePDF Writer, Adobe PDF. There were a couple other printers that were deployed via GPO, but I disabled those https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/800251-printer-and-devices-issues GPOs to see if that was the cause and no change. I ran sfc /scannow and no issues. I saw that someone suggested isolating all the printers via the print management console and I did that. I've gone through the event log and the only events mentioning the spooler are User Profile Service Errors 1530 from both before and after this started occurring and the MS Access application hangs. Could it have been an update that got installed recently? I installed updates and rebooted the sever this weekend for the first time in a couple weeks. If so, what's the best way to roll it back? I've also discovered tonight that the RAID array for the server has a predictive failure code flashing, but I'm not sure that is related (already reached out for a replacement drive from Dell). Clearly, the new drive will take priority over fixing the printers, but both are necessary. TECHNOLOGY IN THIS DISCUSSION Microsoft print spooler Windows Server 2012 Printers and Printing Research Guide Join the Community! Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now Hey Guys. Ok I got a weird one here so bare with me on this. Recently, users started complaining about printers not printing. I would re-establish them by starting up the print spooler but it would happen continually. The spooler error code 0x7e is set to restart twice and do nothing after that. Something keeps stopping the print spooler! I went into event viewer and noticed that in the print and document services category, I get an event ID 823 Changing default printer continuously throughout the day for random users. There are some event ID 808 errors that say the following: The print spooler failed to load a plug-in module C:\Windows\system32\spool\DRIVERS\x64\3\UNIDRVUI.DLL, error code 0xc1. See the event user data for context information. The terminal services-printers category shows a bunch of event ID 1107 saying that random printers on the network can not be deleted. FYI: This is happening across 2 Terminal servers on the same network for the all users. Anyone ever have an issue like this? Any advice? Thanks in advance!
