my problem with the print spooler: Whenever i would start it in services.msc, it would turn itself off within about 4-5 seconds. I tried using the Microsoft fix-it executable, but it just did the same thing; started the http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/print-spooler-stops-after-trying-to-print-a-pdf/1a04b50a-46aa-4146-b2c6-84b29beadb12 print spooler service, and within 4 to 5 seconds it would shut itself off. So, after some excessive googling, i tried this: 1. i opened up services.msc 2. i double clicked the Print Spooler item from the menu 3. i went to the recovery tab 4. i set the top 3 drop-down menus to Restart the Service and set the "Restart service after: xx minutes' to 0 in doing this, i hoped that whenever the print spooler service http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/8872-63-print-spooler-issues-adobe-reader failed it would instantly start up again, thus fixing the problem. I can now print okay consistently in notepad and MS Word, but not Adobe Reader - I'll talk about Reader later. So, is this a valid fix or is there something else i could try that would fix my problem with the print spooler service better? Now, my issues with Adobe Reader: i'm trying to print a 260 page PDF double sided. So, i open the .pdf, and click the print button. I click the 'Properties' button, and get this error when i click the 'Finishing' tab: Function address 0x2802c37 caused a protection fault. (exception code 0xc0000005) The application property sheet page(s) may not function properly. If i hit the OK button, it continues along seemingly unharmed. So i check the "print on both sides (manually)" check box, and press the OK button. I click the OK button to print after a moment of lag, and get an error window saying "The document could not be printed." after pressing OK, it gives me another error window: "there were no pages selected to print." After this, i have tried clicking the print button again. I get a window that says "Before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a new printer. Do you want to install a printer now? If

When I restart the print spooler, it will not work, instead, it needs to be manually stopped and then re-started after clearing the temp files from the Windows>system32>spool>Printers folder. Other applications can print such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc, but when printing PDFs the spooler crashes like this. We were printing from Acrobat Standard 9.0, but to test it, we changed to using adobe pdf printer the newest version of Acrobat Reader 9.3.4 with the same results. We even uninstalled Reader and reinstalled it, but still get the same issue. Any ideas? I have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 7307Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. In a lot of cases where the PDF file is known to be good (not corrupted), the print spooler stops. Try these steps and see if it solves your problem. Try checking the print spooler. Click Start and type services in the Start Search text box. When you see the Services program, right-click on it. Select Run as administrator, enter the password if it asks you for it and click Continue. Find the Print Spooler service, double-click on it and make sure the Startup type is Automatic. If it is not, change the setting to Automatic. Restart the spooler if possible. Sometimes newer versions of PDF files may require updated printer drivers. Run the Windows Update program by clicking Start and typing windows up in the Start Search text box. Find Windows Update in the results window and see if Microsoft has any updates for your printer driver or print spooler service updates. Check your PDF reader or other PDF program for the latest updates. Install those updates and then try printing the PDF file again. Hop on the Internet and go to the web site of the manufacturer that made your printer. Download their latest drivers for your printer. After downloading the drivers, install them. The drivers are usually in an executable program that you run to install the drivers. Follow any specific instructions the manufacturer may give you to install the drivers. If the above steps do not work, run Microsoft’s Fix it program. Just click here to download and run the program. Follow the steps in the Fix it Wizard and reset the print spooler. If you still cannot print the PDF, try uninstalling your printer. Then install the printer again using the latest drivers. Following these steps should resolve most PDF printing problems. 2 Tags: PDF printing Posted in PDF Editing | 2 thoughts on “Problems Printing PDF Files In Windows 7” shiju jose February 6, 2014 at 1:05 pm updated Acrobat, Reader 10.1.2 and try it will fix your issues Reply ↓ Mellisa Hugh October 30, 2014 at 6:50 am Try Total PDF Printer.
