a HP LaserJet 4250? up vote 1 down vote favorite I have a network of users running Windows XP. Their driver for the office LaserJet 4250 was working fine until a few days ago. The printer is accessible through the web management portal, and you can print through the configuration page. When any user selects the printer from the CTRL-P print window, the system hangs, and the application will crash. Chrome, Acrobat, notepad.exe, Outlook...all crash print spooler repair tool if you even SELECT the printer from the list. The printer is running at 192.168.168.202. There's other printers running successfully on the network, and we could turn one of the servers into a dedicated printing server if that would be the best choice. I'd update the firwmare for the printer, and for the jetdirect card, and see where that gets you. Very odd that they all do it at once so I'd point fingers at the printer. Have installed 3 printers in as many weeks. None of them have worked. Finally got one that does and everytime I try to install from disk it freezes up the computer. All went smooth on my Dell, reason I know printer works ) but on the HP I'm having issues. Thought I'd done everything exactly the same on both but obviously not.
