Photoshop Could Not Save Because Of A Program Error Cs5format! Penderecki Jan 16, 2012 7:49 AM I have a large file (3500x8300px) that i have been working on in Photoshop CS4 and i tried to save it after working on it for about 30 minutes and got the following message: "Could not save as 'filename' because of a program error." I tried saving it as .psd, .pdf, .tif, even .jpg and received the same message each could not save because of a program error photoshop cc time. I closed down all other software to ensure that there was enough memory available but to no avail. I then just closed my MBP and waited until the next day hoping it was just a glitch and might work later on. I opened it up the next day (forgetting about the save issue) and worked on the file for a few more hours and then tried saving it again. (that's when i remembered the issue...too late...the work was already done). Nope...still won't let me save it. I'm afraid i'll have to restart the program but cannot afford to lose this work. Any thoughts on how to fix it?*note: i tried 'save for web' and it allowed me to save it as a flattened image (although rather slow due to filesize) but i need it in a layered format.ANY HELP would be much appreciated! Thanks.**(I'm running PS CS4 v. 11.0.2 on a MBP 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3 and have Lion OS X 10.7.2.) 39734Views Tags: none (add) cs4Content tagged with cs4, photoshopContent tagged with photoshop, errorContent tagged with error, saveContent tagged with save, macContent tagged with mac This content has been marked as final.

I insist to use those fonts, I just don't know why they're causing that error. I tried to use font forge to re-generate the font with different settings, nothing seemed to solve the issue though. I'd love to know how to solve this problem, Thanks. adobe-photoshop fonts pdf share|improve this question asked Nov 12 '12 at 9:00 Don 14416 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted There most likely is no ideal solution. Some fonts do not permit embedding within PDFs. And some fonts are constructed so poorly, they will cause errors inherently. You can try converting the type layers to shape layers and then saving as a PDF. You can try rasterizing the type layers, then saving as a PDF. Those are pretty much your only two options. share|improve this answer answered Nov 12 '12 at 10:34 Scott 93.5k12124246 I was afraid of an answer like that, haha I knew that these are two options I could use but wanted to avoid them. Do you have any idea if moving to InDesign will solve the issue? or are there problems there with fonts as well? –Don Nov 12 '12 at 11:00 If the issue is the font, then it will be an issue anywhere a PDF is generated. Moving to Indesign may not improve anything. –Scott Nov 12 '12 at 15:56 It actually did solve the issue, seems like Photoshop is a bit too picky when it comes to fonts, anyhow thanks for answering! –Don Nov 13 '12 at 5:56 Aren't there any plugins for for PDF reader (or Acrobat) character sets such as the Hebrew one? –poepje Nov 14 '12 at 8:39 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote If you want to make a copy of your working file- you can do so and then go to Edit- Flatt
