then I get an error- DLNA protcol erroe 2101 has occurred. It's done this a couple times now and I have no idea how to fix it...In reading some posts online, someone suggested disabling the UpNp setting on my router which I did, but that did not change anything-Like I said I've never really tweaked any settings on the PS3- it always has found the Linkstation with no issues or adjustments to settings-Thanks for any input Report FB Tweet G+ Message 1 of 8 (13,044 Views)

The problem has nothing to do with the PS3 directly, although a change to the DLNA client code in System 3.72 may be the catalyst of the problem. It is either an issue on the LinkStation, or in the network. Probably the LinkStation. The uPnP setting is irrelevant. The LinkStation is on the same network as the PS3, so the router isn't using NAT; and therefore isn't using uPnP. A common cause is a plug-in or other component on the media server crashing when it receives a request from the PS3. It will be hard

last couple of days I've received the below error when streaming from my mac to PS3 with Medialink: Media Server dlna protocol error 2101 medialink Error: A DLNA Protocol Error (2101) has occured. Any ideas what the deal is with this? It happened before and after I upgraded to PS3 firmware 3.0. I also now have Medialink http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/Support-General/DLNA-Protocol-Error-2101/td-p/36328699 2.0A1 but still the same problem. Thanks. I think 2101 is just a timeout due to the helper crashing. You can remove the plugin so MediaLink will at least work, if without thumbnails. Go to the following location, either on your HDD, or from your home directory depending if it's installed for all users or just you: 1. Go to Library/PreferencePanes 2. Right click MediaLink.prefPane, Show Contents 3. Go to Contents/Resources/MediaLinkHelper.app/Contents/PlugIns 4. Remove AlbumArtTranscoder.mltranscoder Hopefully the guys at NullRiver are on top of this and can get it sorted Edit: I should add, the crash only applies to 2.0A1. If you're having this on other versions, you want to check your network configuration, check Utilities - Console, it logs extensively in the alpha and should help diagnose the prob

But with latest PS3-fw and latest offical fw for QNAP (TS-109) there are significant many more errors shown (f.e. DLNA 2106...). I recogniced some network connection loss ,too, with the current PS3/QNAP-fw configuration. This was never been before the case.I guess this happens because of UPNP-network-delays.greetings TS-119 // 3.3.8 build 1217T TS-209Pro2 // 3.3.0 build 0924TWindows 7 Professional 64 Bit // GermanTS-109: no RAID, Western Digital WD7500AYYSTS-209Pro2: RAID 1, 2x WD7500AACS (Green Power)Services: Webfile-Manager, Multimedia Station, UPnP, Download Station, QPKG on TS119: WordPress, XDoveexternal devices: sometimes diffrently USB-SticksNAS connections: 1Gbit/s, Jumbo Frames 9000 Top Doozer Getting the hang of things Posts: 55 Joined: Fri Apr 04, 2008 7:53 pm Model: TS-x51/x51+/451S Re: DLNA Protocol Error (2101) on PS3 Quote Postby Doozer » Sun May 04, 2008 2:50 am Is this something that can be fixed? PS3: DLNA Protocol Error (2110) has Occurred HipToday Posts: 18Members April 2012 in DLNA I'm not sure if this is actually limited to the PS3, but it's the only DLNA client I have. Anyway... When I try to browse the folder of a particular TV show on my PS3 I'm getting the error "Media Server Error: A DLNA protocol error (2110) has occurred" followed by "Media Server Error: A DLNA protocol error (2101) has occurred" and instead of the episode list I get "There are no titles." This also affects the "Recently Aired" and "Recently Added" folders due to episodes of the show being included in those lists as well. Looking at the server logs it seems the DLNA server dies and restarts when this happens. The show in question is Conan (as in the talk show on TBS). The only particularly unique thing about this show that I can think of is that when I did the original library scan it matched on Conan, an apparent Conan the Barbarian TV show, I then had to "Fix incorrect match" in Plex Media Manager. I thought originally that perhaps the parentheses in the filenames (e.g. "Conan (2010) - S01E01 - Guest Name Here.avi") might be problematic, but I have other shows named similarly that work fine. The server is v0.9.6.0.11 running on Ubuntu 11.04 and there doesn't seem to be any issue on the other (non-DLNA) clients I've tried (Windows and Android). I've attached what I think are the relevant logs.
