Equipment Protocol Error Sms
Server Web Site Download ActiveXperts SMS Messaging Server GSM Equipment and Network Error Codes When controlling GSM devices using AT commands, the device can respond with either "OK" or "ERROR". Sometimes you will receive an error and you do not know the cause of this error. That's why most advanced GSM devices support extended errors. Instead of just displaying the "ERROR" message, it also shows an error number. The syntax of this extended error is either "+CMS ERROR: xxx" or "+CME ERROR: xxx". When the error starts with "+CME ERROR", it means that the error is a device specific error code. For instance, you are trying to read a phonebook entry before entering a pincode. When there is a network error, for instance, when you try to send an SMS message when there is no network coverage, you will receive an error which starts with "+CMS ERROR". To enable these extended commands, execute the following commands, or add them to your modems init string: AT+CMEE=1 AT&W Below you can find a list containing almost every error code supported by GSM devices. from Motorola - this is stock international release (not Carrier branded) Issue also occurred on stock international release 2.3.6 before OTA upgrade + patch ISSUE - For some reason phone does not receive messages. I only http://www.smssolutions.net/tutorials/gsm/gsmerrorcodes/ become aware of this when a contact phones me to say "hey did you get my message - why didn't you respond" etc. Check the SMS app and nothing received. Power the device off and then power on and after a period of time messages start being received again. Most recent example - no message received from midday Wednesday until late Thursday night. Actions taken - Isolation test performed at carriers retail store https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=36212 - however this really proved nothing as the issue is intermittent. Involved putting my SIM in another phone and sending and receiving messages. Carrier checked SMSC V5 logs on their network - identified Error 62 - equipment protocol error and blamed the handset. Suggested that I could try SIM replacement Micro SIM replaced - issue appeared to be fixed. Checked with carrier and not errors reporting in their logs since the changes of SIM. Issue happening again. worked for about 1.5 weeks until this Wednesday when it started again. Checked again with carrier - SMS logs again showing Error 62 equipment protocol error. Unable to reliably receive SMS which impacts ability to respond in a timely manner to autogenerated system support messages. This should just work without manual intervention to cold boot the phone. If you happen to have a development environment, please also run "adb bugreport" and archive the output as it could help diagnose the problem. No development environment Jan 14, 2013 #1 irene.mi...@gmail.com hi, did get your issue fixed? What was the outcome? I started getting the same issue in August 2012 with Optus. It's now happened 5 times since and it's quite frustrating. Optus at one point tried to blame the Galaxy S and told me to put my sim
