After a HotSync I receive a message that says Protocol Error: Handheld file could not be http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Palm-and-WebOS/Protocol-Error-Handheld-file-could-not-be-opened-4004/td-p/2043469 opened. (4004) I tried running a db Scan. The scan found no errors in any databases on the device. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the Palm Software in a clean, new folder. This did not work either. Does anyone know of a way to delete the databases from the phone without resorting to a hard reset? My client has many contacts on the http://forums.webosnation.com/palm-os-devices-apps/142121-protocol-error-handheld-file-could-not-opened-4004-treo-680-a.html device and it would be a problem to try to recreate each entry. The HotSync log is listed below. Thank you for any help. I Picked up a Palm TX, in addition to my Palm Pre. I Started A Fresh Install Of Palm 6.2.2 Hotsynching With my TX. I Created a Totally New Folder, and transferred PIM Data Via Desktop protocol error Importing., Then Did My First Hotsync on a Hard-Resetted TX (Clean), and, although the data went over, and it Hotsynched, It Did Say Hotsync completed with Errors and file not saved in Backup. At This Point there only 4 databases. on. I Looked On Google, and found the protocol error handheld exact Problem, and that it is not a problem, and can either ignore it, every time it happens, or Download a Prc Fix for It. I Was Wondering, before downloading the File, If This Fix Is Already in the dBfixit 2, to scan for and fix, or if it is something that might happen a lot, as a bug, and whether CESD might add those sort of scans, or whether it is worth it with the phasing out of PalmOS. Here Is The Link to the Palm Page, with info on this Bug, and link to Fix it:- http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/44937_en.html :-) [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ For information about trying and purchasing Pimlical: http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/pimlicalpreview.htm To download latest version of Pimlical: http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/pimlical.msi Neither Pimlico, the developer, nor the list owner is responsible for content.
