'Acronis Disk Director Suite' started by nahmus, Jan 25, 2009. Thread Status: Not open for further replies. nahmus Registered Member Joined: Oct 3, 2006 0xc00002e1 fix Posts: 16 I just used DD10 to resize the D: partition on security accounts manager initialization failed 2003 0xc00002e1 a Domain controller. the resize completed successfully but on reboot I got the following error LSASS.EXE - System Error, dbinitializejetdatabase failed with jet error security accounts manager initialization failed because of the following error: Directory Services cannot start. Error status 0xc00002e1. Please click OK to shutdown this system and reboot into directory services restore https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/258062 mode, check the event log for more detailed information.Click to expand... I talked to an acronis tech and he pointed me to the same article from MS about all of the steps needed to take to fix this. I'm posting this because the fix i was able to do was not posted anywhere and it might save someone else the heart http://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/lsass-exe-security-accounts-manager-error-status-0xc00002e1-after-resize.231600/ attack I just had when i saw the message. What acronis did after the resize is remove the drive letter from the partition. the server did not see D: so it gave the above error. I did the following Booted into Directory services repair mode **THIS PASSWORD WAS SET WHEN YOU INSTALLED THE SYSTEM. IF YOU CHANGE YOUR ADMIN PASSWORD THIS DOES NOT CHANGE WITH IT. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW IT** Once in safe mode I went into disk management and there was the healthy partition. I right clicked it, assigned the D: drive letter to it and rebooted. everything came up ok. I'm not sure why acronis did not preserve the drive letter. I have used DD before and never had a problem. If anyone has any ideas post up but I'm mainly posting this so if someone else has this problem this might be useful thanks to the chat techs that tried to help. nahmus, Jan 25, 2009 #1 MudCrab Imaging Specialist Joined: Nov 3, 2006 Posts: 6,478 Location: California Did you do the resize when booted to t

Tomorrow I'm going https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/283609-sbs2003-server-not-booting-lsass-exe-error down to take a look. They're running some kind of HP G5 server down there. Each time it boots an error appears: 'lsass.exe system error Security accounts manager initialization failed because of the following error directory service cannot start. error status 0xc00002e1. Please click ok to shutdown the system and reboot into direcotry service restore mode.' I've asked the admin down there to press F8 so I can follow the instructions in this security accounts doc: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/258062. But he just reaches a raid config screen each time. Tried a ps2 and usb keyboard but we cannot reach the options screen where we can enter directory service restore mode. They have a duplicate server offsite and the admin is currently restoring the server to Friday nights backup. This may/ or may not work. But I'm interested to know what the issue on the main server. Do you have any security accounts manager advice on what I can try to troubleshoot when I' down there tomorrow? Thanks, Mark

On servers, you must wait until after all hardware has been initialized. 0 Poblano OP Lunati Dec 17, 2012 at 4:40 UTC Sounds like you have duplicate cross-reference objects, have you tried this hot fix? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830574 0 Poblano OP MB1980 Dec 17, 2012 at 4:53 UTC Lunati: Can't get even reach the logon screen at present to apply that hotfix 0 Poblano OP MB1980 Dec 17, 2012 at 8:12 UTC Hopefully its a corrupt ad issue. We have a decent backup in place down at the site so I should be able to run through the kb link in my initial post, then attempt to restore the system state if needs be. The key is having the correct drsm password available or we could be in trouble. What considerations would I have to think about if we had to replace the whole server and get the backup up and running on it? 0 Poblano OP MB1980 Dec 18, 2012 at
