occurred forrtl: severe (174): SIGSEGV, segmentation fault occurred Ines F. Tue, 03/12/2013 - 04:29 Hi. I encounterd the classical error forrtl: severe (174): sigsegv, segmentation fault occurred wrf severe (174): SIGSEGV, segmentation fault occurred when i call the lapack subroutine GESDD on my fortran (90) program with the ifort composer 2013 Linux. !! Allocate( AA(M,N), S(MIN(M,N)),U(M,M),VT(N,N), WW(MIN(M,N)-1)) AA = Epatch; call GESDD(AA,S,U=U, VT=VT, JOBZ='A') Results on : forrtl: severe (174): SIGSEGV, segmentation fault occurred The real problem is that the error doesn't appear in the first passage through these code lines. it doesn't make any problem until a presize moment. I have tried many things to rectify it : the option -heap-arrays; ulimit -s unlimited to increase my stack size .... forrtl: severe (174): sigsegv, segmentation fault occurred cesm it doesn't work. I don't know if this can be rectified if I use the fortran Interface !? Can I have some help if possible Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaase ! At fisrt look, it may be an 'out range subscript' in an array ; do you use '-C' option in compiler ? Top Ines F. Tue, 03/12/2013 - 05:34 I use '-c' option in compiler, I don't know the difference between the '-c' and '-C' options. I will try to see what the output parameter INFO gives as output value. Does the 'out range subscript' can explain please that most of the times it works and doesn't in some special cases ? Thank you. Top bpichon Tue, 03/12/2013 - 05:37 -C is for 'check bound' a very useful option that I use always Top Ines F. Tue, 03/12/2013 - 05:48 I tried to compile with the '-C' option and I get this type of problem : undefined reference to '

In this project, I will take a look at a number of NWTs and https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/intel-fortran-compiler-for-linux-and-mac-os-x/topic/377381 possibly recommend one for further use at MARIN. One of the codes I am considering is HOS-NWT. Thank you for making it available to everyone. I compiled both HOS-NWT1.0 and HOS-ocean1.1 with ifort. The latter is working fine but when I start a simulation with the former, I get the following error message: Wave first order At first order required x-pic mode 19 enabled 512 required y-pic mode https://github.com/LHEEA/HOS-NWT/issues/2 0 enabled 1 At second order required x-pic mode 79 enabled 512 required y-pic mode 0 enabled 1 forrtl: severe (174): SIGSEGV, segmentation fault occurred Image PC Routine Line Source HOS-NWT 0000000000752CDD Unknown Unknown Unknown HOS-NWT 0000000000632BAA fourier_fftw_mp_e 485 fourier_FFTW.f90 HOS-NWT 00000000006312F9 fourier_fftw_mp_d 442 fourier_FFTW.f90 HOS-NWT 0000000000566F56 initial_condition 396 initial_condition.f90 HOS-NWT 00000000004168AB MAIN__ 408 HOS-NWT.f90 HOS-NWT 0000000000404FAC Unknown Unknown Unknown libc.so.6 0000003FAF41ED5D Unknown Unknown Unknown HOS-NWT 0000000000404EA9 Unknown Unknown Unknown Do you have any ideas for me so that I can resolve this issue? All the Best, Bulent LHEEA - ECN member gducrozet commented Feb 20, 2015 Hello, In order to understand the problem, could you specify which problem you try to solve (i.e. i_case)? Such error may appear if an input and/or output files is not accessible. This is, in my opinion, the first thing to check. Furthermore, did you try to run the different benchmarks available in Benchmark directory, to test if your installation is correct? Best regards, Guillaume. Bduz commented Feb 23, 2015 I am trying to run a simulation using the input file that exists in HOS-NWT-1.0\bin directory. icase=2 I tried to run benchmark cases as well, I got the same error message.
