Incoming requests are redirected by Apache to ColdFusion. We have been seeing lately a very random set of 'Internal Server Errors' when the site is accessed. Sometimes enable http status codes coldfusion doing a refresh of the page fixes things; at other times we need to restart the CF 10 services. I do not see anything in the logs to help me push for a resolution. Do you know of any methods on what I should be doing to get this fixed? Appreciate your help. get the web server connector working after applying update 14. We did our investigation and following is our finding. The connector binaries of ColdFusion 10 update 14 are built on top of VC++ runtime 2012 update 4. Installation of VC++ runtime

requires admin privileges. If the ColdFusion service runs as administrator or system account, the update itself install cfmhandler 0x800700c1 the VC++ runtime as this account would have installation privileges. If your ColdFusion service account is not running as administrator or system account, applying the

hotfix from administrator can't install VC++ runtime and you will get "500 internal server error" after configuring the connector. In this case, you need to manually install VC++ runtime 2012 32-bit and/or 64 bit depending on whether Web server is 32-bit https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1073020 or 64-bit. You can download VC++ runtime here at: http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=30679 When you install hotfix manually, administrator privileges are enforced and so the installation of VC++ runtime is automatically taken care by the updater. Are you telling me the whole QA team at Adobe are running their ColdFusion servers *as administrator" ?!? In direct conflict with their own guide ? Adam Cameron Oct 16, 2014 at 7:41 AM [reaches for popcorn]Oh, go on Adobe, I'm looking forward to you answering *that* question... Kai Koenig Oct 16, 2014 at 8:17 AM Yikes, truly. In all seriousness though and as sad as it is, it would probably reflect what the 99.99% of ACF users out there are doing :-(I assume the connector update essentially makes it on par with the CF11 update 1/2 connector. Wasn't there a connector update on CF11 update 1? I might be wrong - bit if it was, would this problem apply as well then? Rupesh Kumar Oct 16, 2014 at 9:30 AM To add to what KP said, you would see this issue only if the VC++ runtime 2012 is not present on the machine and the CF update is not able to install this library. VC++ runtime can be installed individually or can come bundled with many other softwares includin

Also on the VDI when I use Chrome or Firefox it works fine also. Maybe there is an IE compatibility setting enabled on the physical desktop but not on the VM. Try enabling compatibility mode. 1351-272232-1488686 Back to top Report abuse Back to XenDesktop 4.0 Reply to quoted posts Clear Citrix ©1999-2016 Citrix Systems, Inc. in Java J2EE I know how frustrating is to see Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError,which is a manifestation of NoClassDefFoundError in Java. I have seen it a couple of times and spent quite a lot time initially to figure out what is wrong, which class is missing etc. The first mistake I did was mingling java.lang.ClassNotfoundException and NoClassDefFoundError, in reality, they are totally different, and my second mistake was using trial and error method to solve this java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError instead of understanding why NoClassDefFoundError is coming, what is the real reason behind NoClassDefFoundError and how to resolve this. In this Java tutorial, I have tried to rectify that mistakes and uncover some secrets of NoClassDefFoundError in Java and will share my experience around it. NoClassDefFoundError is not something which cannot be resolved or hard to resolve it's just its manifestation which puzzles most of Java developer. This is the most common error in Java development along with java.lang.OutOfMemoroyError: Java heap space and java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space Anyway lets's see Why NoClassDefFoundError comes in Java and what to do to resolve NoClassDefFoundError in Java. What is the reason of NoClassDefFoundError in Java? NoClassDefFoundError in Java comes when Java Virtual Machine is not able to find a particular class at runtime which was available at compile time. For example, if we have a method call from a class or accessing any static member of a Class and that class is not available during run-time then JVM will throw NoClassDefFoundError. It's important to understand that this is different than ClassNotFoundException which comes while trying to load a class at run-time only and the name was provided during runtime, not at compile-time. Many Java developer mingles this two Error and gets confused. In short, NoClassDefFoundError will come if a class was present during compile time but not available in java classpath during runtime. Normally you will see below line in log when you get NoClassDefFoundError: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError Exception in thread "main" simply indicate that its "main" thread which is not able to find a particular class it could be any thread so just don't worry. The difference between this error coming in the main thread and another thread is when Exception in thread "main" comes program crashes or shut itself down as opposed to othe
