Jun 21, 2005 at6:23AM can anyone help with this? I had a drive go bad, got my boot drive data copied and the server is dhcp server error running. but DHCP is totaly hosed. I have removed it from add/remove programs. re booted. tried to re-install no dice! the only error messages I get are strange and no help. I've been googling for help and looking and not found the final answer. seems like it wants a file in access format named DHCP.MDB and complains that it can not access it. if I create one it deletes it! it throws out an error: The DHCP service failed to initalize the database. the following error occurred: %%65535 so far the info I have found says: copy a backup from the \backup folder or delete the files but leave the folders and it will create a new DHCP.MDB on re-start they are not working. part of the problem seems to be that the server "remembers" that it had a DHCP server and wants to bring it back.... but w/o the files I can't start the control app to purge it .... catch 22.
