If you encounter further issues with the renamed .htaccess file, revert its name, and try restoring it from a backup. Most of the time .htaccess issues are caused by trying to overwrite PHP settings, being uploaded in binary format or permissions issues. Resolution Be sure to upload .htaccess files in ASCII mode Set the permissions to 644, which makes it usable by the server, but prevents it from being read from a browser. If you are trying to make changes to PHP settings, be sure to make changes to your PHP initialization file. For more information see: What filename does my PHP initialization file need to use? It runs about 30 queries per row and there are 1500 rows. Now it has been running fine up until I added a final query. If the extra query is in the script goes to a 500 page if not it executes fine. I have increased internal server error the max execution time to a ridiculously high number and still have this error. Can any suggest anything else to take a look at? Are there a maximum number of queries one script can perform? I would look at the error logs, but on the package I have GoDaddy does not show them (Useful). Any tips and suggestions appreciated. EDIT: Thanks for all the help. I have now: Increased memory from 100M to 120M Decreased execution time from something ridiculous to 300 Also I have run the error reporting and it did bring back some undefined constants in some $_POST variables. I sorted them and ran again and as per usual it went to the 500 error page. php godaddy server-error share|improve this question edited Aug 23 '11 at 13:17 asked Aug 23 '11 at 12:54 Somk 3,5511971113 closed as off-topic by Yvette Colomb, rene, Tunaki, andrewsi, Zheyuan Li Aug 21 at 1:45 This question appears to be off-topic. If you always get a 500 that would be different. You might be getting the error when the internal communications between the web server and the MySQL database server have a high level of latency, especially if you have added lots of plugins. You might try disabling each plugin and allowing it to run for a reasonable enough time to determine if it were the culprit. OTOH, you might follow @John P Bloch's advice and just switch hosts. Ironically today there was the following message posted to a long running thread on the LinkedIn WordPress group about web hosts where most people are giving GoDaddy a very big thumbs down. Here is that post: hi. i seemed to have wandered into a morass... i became a godaddy reseller so i could offer a one-stop shop for my website clients. so
