available in the server error log. Apache/1.3.33 Server at mydomain.com Port 80 Cause This error can be caused by a variety of issues but is most likely caused by a corrupt .htaccess file. Check to see if there is an .htaccess file in the directory where the error is being generated godaddy server error log or any directory above in the tree. If so, temporarily rename the .htaccess file and refresh the page. If the error does not reappear, the .htaccess file is the issue. Repair the file or leave it disabled. If you encounter further issues with the renamed .htaccess file, revert its name, and try restoring it from a backup. Most of the time .htaccess issues are caused by trying to overwrite PHP settings, being uploaded in binary format or permissions issues. Resolution Be sure to upload .htaccess files in ASCII mode Set the permissions to 644, which makes it usable by the server, but prevents it from being read from a browser. If you are trying to make changes to PHP settings, be sure to make changes to your PHP initialization file. For more information see: What filename does my PHP initialization file need to use? Getting 500 (Internal Server) Error [ Edited ] Hello, Recently I have been informed that IP of the server will be change to new one. So it has been changed and DNS are pointed to correct IP but still I'm getting 500 (Internal Server) Error. Site was made using site builder. It's not showing any other error and from back end https://www.godaddy.com/community/Building-and-Managing-a-Website/Change-in-IP-Getting-500-Internal-Server-Error/td-p/2404 it shows everything is fine. Since nothing is working I installed WP on windows hosting and it says there is an error but no detail at all. And it's not giving admin panel for WP. What could be the general problem in here ? And I have spent a couple of hours trying to figure it

It is always transitory, as - whenever it occurs - if I simply repeat whatever it was I did things are fine. I've setup the PERFORMANCE section of Drupal to optimize things as much as I can, and there are minimal people on the site at the time these errors occur. Beginning to think it is some sort of slow server response problem like what I've run into with other hosting companies in the past. Is the only effective way to run a Drupal install is through a VPS type account? Those are quite a bit more expensive than shared hosting, but that seems to be the only alternative to long term happiness! Rather frustrated on this as I certainly don't have the budget to do lots of trial and error testing with hosting company after hosting company to find one that works as it should... You never know exactly how many othe rsites are on the server. What resources are being used. The list goes on. If you have a lot of modules (no we can't tell you what a lot is, it's subjective) you may be running into processor timeouts on the host. You need to see what tools are available from your host to track down those sorts of issues. Log in or register to post comments I'm having similar fun this evening with my
