I have an iMac G5 https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3928582?tstart=0 desktop. I was using a primitive dial up internet connection. It was working for a long time, maybe a year or more, but one day it stopped working. The problem does not appear to be http://www.tweaking.com/forums/index.php?topic=2404.0 with the internet provider. The number dials and connects but the computer won't do anything more, i.e. it won't connect to any internet pages. The only error message is "server not found" or similar, server not but I do notice that the computer is trying to connect initially to Yahoo. I am not the original owner of the computer and I assume that Yahoo is the default set up. I don't know if the fact that it is trying to connect to Yahoo matters. I would like to mention that I have gotten "server not found" error messages before on a PC with DSL internet connection. server not found Whenever that happened, I was told to disconnect and reconnect the DSL modem and/or router. This has always solved the problem, but there is nothing to dis/reconnect on my Apple.
