Chosen solution A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program. Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process. Cloud Computing WordPress How to Fix the Server Not Found Error in Mozilla Firefox January 27, 2014 by Gurinder Batra Share this:FacebookTwitterGoogleEmailPrint The use of internet is fast becoming a mandate in the life of almost every individual and more crucial for those whose business efforts rest on the internet. In such a situation, if Mozilla Firefox browser displays Server not found for a certain site that you open, it is quite likely for you to get irritated. The first thing that you need to check here is whether other browsers are able to open this website. If the link is working elsewhere, this indicates some problem in the working of Firefox. Mozilla Firefox can be a personal choice for many people as it is reliable, secure and works at a decent speed. IE and Google Chrome generally lack this balance. Following are the steps to troubleshoot the Server not found problem. Steps to Fix Server Not Found Error in Firefox 1. Check Firefox Connection Settings 1. Open the Firefox browser, from the menu select Edit -> Preferences option. 2. Now select Advanced option from the left menu & then choose the Network tab. 3. In the connection section, choose the Settings… option 4. In the new Connection settings popup window, you will get options for setting up the proxy details. Check ‘No Proxy’ in case if you dont need a proxy to access the Internet. Otherwise, configure the proxy information. 5. After making all the proxy changes, click Ok to close the ‘Connection Settings’ window. 2. Disable DNS Pre-fetching DNS Pre fetching improves the web page load time by caching the web pages. The DNS pre-fetching can some time create connectivity related problems in the browser. In such cases, we can resolve No Server found problem by disabling the DNS pre-fetching using the below mentioned steps. 1. In the Firefox browser address bar, type about:config and press Enter. As the settings under this option are quite sensitive you will be presented with a warning page. Click on ‘I’ll be careful, I promise’ to proceed. 2. You will be presented with a list of preferences. Right click anywhere on the preferences list & select ‘New’. From the available options, choose ‘Boolean’. When prompted with an option to fill in the preference name, enter ‘network.dns.
