Also, as it already has a data type of Date, there is no need to use CDate to convert it to the Date data type. Another issue (which may well be the cause of the problem) is that this line is not valid: Code: a1 = ActiveCell.Column This may seem to work properly the first time, but you will then get "random" errors with any code that interacts with Excel afterwards - and you will probably get an extra instance of Excel running in Task Manager. Whenever you use any Excel based objects (such as ActiveCell or Selection or WorkSheets or Cells), make sure you specify the appropriate parent object too.
