I have word 2000 sp3. Have been editing a document and creating TOC using styles for the last few days. Today when recreating the TOC, I got the message Error! No table of contents entries found and have been unable to create an index. I http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/error-no-table-of-contents-entries-found-help.2532607/ have gone to MSoft to review my updates, and confirmed I have latest updates and patches. https://groups.google.com/d/topic/microsoft.public.word.application.errors/3nnPGP4lOnE Has anyone got some ideas how to resolve this? I did see 1 MSoft article about separator characters and regional settings - but these are (, comma) and have been working for the last month. I 'm sure this has happened to others but have found nothing. TIA jack jack, May 5, 2006 #1 Advertisements Charles Kenyon Guest It sounds like you recreated the TOC table of using TC fields rather than headings. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome! It used to?? I have just tried copying part of doc to new doc and create TOC for the partial doc. It works???? jack jack, May 5, 2006 #3 Charles Kenyon Guest Insert > Styles? I'm lost. Try copying the TOC from your scratch document into the problem one. Update the Field (F9). -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Micro
