Also have a look at THIS link, might contain your answer. 0 Discussion Starter noblesw 12 4 Years Ago I am developing for either. To this point, I have been http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_word-mso_mac/no-table-of-figures-entries-found/b29250af-eb11-4cb9-9676-fc23c4c2e241 careful to only use methods that are available in both. 0 AndreRet 362 4 Years Ago Did you have a look at the link I gave, you might have missed something when trying to set the caption. 0 Discussion Starter noblesw 12 4 Years Ago I just read the link you provided, which I have seen before. It speaks only to the "manual" method. I am aware that https://www.daniweb.com/programming/software-development/threads/434265/table-of-figures-word-automation I can record a macro and review it, but seeing a few lines of sample code is so much more informative as you have to separate all that you don't need from that which you do when looking at macros. 0 Discussion Starter noblesw 12 4 Years Ago The biggest problem that I am having with this task is finding a method that inserts the text into the TOF. I have looked at the MSDN page...http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/microsoft.office.interop.word.tableoffigures.caption(v=office.11).aspx but I can't find a method (or even a description for each of the methods) that seems to work. 0 AndreRet 362 4 Years Ago Ahh, more information. :) So you are trying to set the caption via a macro right? If so, show the code you are using and where the error occurred. 0 Discussion Starter noblesw 12 4 Years Ago Sorry, the title of my post included "Word Automation", and I am using the automation object. No, I am actually using the Progress ABL to drive the MSWORD.OLB object. I create the TOF point at the top of the document creation, just like I do for the TOC. I update the TOF at the end, just like I do the TOC. The Table of
I have 3 figures in my document (1 page). I added captions right below them. I tried to insert a table of figures using any and all of the options in the Insert | Reference | Index and http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/cannot-create-table-of-figures.3680508/ Table | Table of Figures commands. All I get is "Error: no table of figures entries found." What am I doing wrong or not doing. Thanks. Flick Flick Olmsford, Nov 24, 2008 #1 Advertisements Suzanne S. If you need to wrap text around the figures, make both figures and captions In Line With Text and then insert them both into a frame (you can find the Insert Frame button on the Forms toolbar). Otherwise, leave them both inline--much easier to work with. -- Suzanne S.
