the error "No index entries found". I have checked the index options on the report definition. I also in word went to Insert - Reference - Indexes and Tables - Table of Contents - Options and chose "Table entry fields". I am using Windows Vista, TMG 7 and Microsoft Office 2003 Professional edition. I appreciate any suggestions. Donna C. Assuming that you intended an Index, I am able to successfully generate an index in Word 2003 but I am using WinXP. Perhaps another Vista user will have a suggestion. In the meantime, you might want to doublecheck that you have all the appropriate index options ticked in TMG. You can also try resetting the report configuration to its defaults, using the Delete button under the configuration name on the report definition screen. You will then have to reselect your Index and other report options.Virginia Win7 Professional x64 Back to top #3 Donna C. Donna C. To setup such a index directory I did the following (according to some MS manuals): I ... 1.) Marked a line/words 2.) right clicked and selected "Bullets and Numbering" 3.) Selected "Outline Numbering" and http://www.wordbanter.com/showthread.php?t=67405 "1.1.1" style 4.) Repeated 1. - 3. for approx. 5 other lines 5.) Set the cursor at the top of the document 6.) Clicked the Word2003 menü "Insert-Reference-Index and Tables..." 7.) Clicked OK Now at the place where the index directory should appear an error line was shown: "Error! No index entries found." So what ? I already marked a couple of text phrases. What else can I do ? Perhaps "Bullet and Numbering.." is not the corrent index entry definition. But what else is correct? Thanks in advance. go4expert, Jan 6, 2011 SHARE#1 NewsBot New Member Joined: Dec 2, 2008 Messages: 1,267 Likes Received: 1 Trophy Points: 0 The way to mark entries for your index can be tiresome but you should use Insert Menu > Reference > Index and Tables Use the Index tab where you should see Mark Entry Button to mark and entry for your Index. Apart from this ideally you should be using Automark files to mark entries for index. An AutoMark file allows you to specify words you want to mark and Word scans the document to mark index entries from a document.
