24 Feb 2012 - 12:55 Yeh tried it out of box and tried formatting. Tried numerous folder structures and still no look. Sold my iPod so I can just use USB and the alpine is absolutely shite with USB, if you search for a song the current song playing stops and it takes forever to load a track. Think ill be switching to pioneer, our lass has an entry level pioneer and the USB is lightning fast and works with every stick I've thrown at it

I'm trying to connect my iphone 4S to Alpine CDE-125BT head unit. I have the latest iphone https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3814354?start=0&tstart=0 IOS update (v5.1). When I connect the phone, the head unit gives me "Unit Error" https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110311182213AAwFRso which means that the iphone is not recognized. How do you fix this problem? iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1 Posted on Mar 18, 2012 1:15 PM I have this question too Close Q: I'm trying to connect my iphone 4S to Alpine CDE-125BT head unit. Their list of compatible phones includes "iPhone 2G, 3G/S, 4G".There is no such thing as an iPhone 4G. If they can't even get that right, I doubt they were ready for iOS 5. You're probably going to have to wait for a firmware update for the head unit. Their recommendation is to wait for apple to provide another update. The Best Buy rep also said he was having problems with other Alpine head units with the iphone 4S with SW 5.1.I'm posting as a way to let Apple know there is a problem and to see if others out there are having similar issues with 5.1 and Alpine products.I will be contacting Alpine during normal office hours to talk with them. Call Alpine. Alpine's own documentation does not claim it is compatible with the iPhone 4S or iOS 5. Technically, it doesn't even claim compatibility with the iPhone 4. It claims compatibility with the iPhone 4G, which does not exist. You are not speaking to Apple. This is strictly a user to user forum. It is not monitored by Apple. Helpful (0) Reply options Li

Trending Now Cleveland Indians Gavin Rossdale Beanie Sigel David Bowie Online MBA 2017 Cars Yale University LeBron James Kia Sorento Jordan Spieth Answers Best Answer: Most Alpine head units allow you to make a selection of what type of files the unit will recognize on CD's. The default setting in most cases is CD-DA. If your media has files in MP3/WMA/AAC format, you may need to change the setting to CDDA/MP3. The UNIT ERROR means: "A USB device that is not supported by the unit is connected. Connect a USB device that is supported by the unit." To connect an iPod/iPhone, you may need the optional KCE-433i "Full-Speed Cable". I'd recommend putting some MP3 files on a thumb drive and see if it works in the USB input. Also try connecting the iPod to the AUX input. Source(s): PimpMyRide · 6 years ago 0 Thumbs up 0 Thumbs down Comment Add a comment Sub
