Did you find a solution? What is it? I just realized how many hundreds of hours I spared since I found the vba error handling right answer to this basic problem a few years ago, and I'd like to see what are your ideas and solutions on this very important issue. vba ms-access error-handling access-vba share|improve this question edited May 27 '15 at 7:40 shruti1810 2,3311725 asked Dec 10 '08 at 22:24 Philippe Grondier 7,92721753 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 5 down vote Well there are a couple of tools that will do what you ask MZ Tools and FMS Inc come to mind. Basically they involve adding an: On Error GoTo ErrorHandler to the top of each proc and at the end they put an: ErrorHandler: Call MyErrorhandler Err.Number, Err.Description, Err.LineNumber label with usually a call to a global error handler where you can display and log custom error messages share|improve this answer answered Dec 10 '08 at 22:40 DJ. 12.7k22941 You took the words out of my mouth! –Philippe Grondier Dec 10 '08 at 23:00 3 This is slightly misleading as Err.LineNumber doesn't exist.. Anyway - periodically, when I have made up some error trapping code, I get error code 0 (zero) - it seems to indicate that everything is working OK - but obviously, I don't want this popping up all the time. Yes, I can just add a little code to see if err=0, and to resume, but should I need to? I can't help but think I am doing something wrong! If Err.Number = 0, there is *no* error! __________________ (RG for short) aka Allan Bunch Previous MS Access MVP acXP, ac07, ac10, ac13 - WinXP Pro, Win7 Pro, Win10 Pro Please post back to this Forum so all may benefit.
