I would need to look at the account to be sure, but it sounds possible that your local exchange has had an upgrade. Our fix for this is to put ourDNSaddresses in your router settings, this is just to cover the transition period, there are only a few customers that get the issue. Here are our DNS addresses. I have been with virgin media for around 15 years and in all that time I have never had so much trouble with connecting to the internet as I have in the past 3 months. I have been in touch twice now about this problem. The first time they sent out an engineer, who swapped over my Superhub, while he was here everything seem to be working OK, alas it was not to last, things went back to the way they were before within a day. The second time, I allowed the tech to access my computer remotely. After not doing anything of real significance for 10 minutes he reset the router to factory settings and changed the channel from automatic, to channel 11. He ended the call by telling me that, that would sort out the problem, yes you guessed it, it didn't. I am still having to wait 2 -5 minutes for a web page to open, but more often than not I am informed that in order to go online I need to be connected to the internet, I AM CONNECTED, by an ethernet cable. However, it doesn't reach the 2nd floor that well, so we've got a Netgear Modem Router DG834GT to act as a Hotpoint (? - not sure, I didn't set up the Wifi, this is what I was told). For a few months we've had issues with the Hotpoint being quite slow and occasionally 'limited' (aka no Internet), but it's usually been fine by the morning and/or after resetting the modem.
