The repair worked just as the FixYa said it would. It was a little difficult getting into the area where the micro switch and water was located, but when I got it all cleaned out, the machine worked again. As the FixYa message indicated, I also don't see any indication of a leak that would have let the water accumulate in the bottom. I left the access panel off and watched a full cycle with no indication of any leaks. Anyway, thanks again. You guys at Do It Yourself continue to provide a wonderful service for me. 09-17-12,10:39 AM #4 jameswil Member Join Date Apr 2004 State AR Posts 221 Possible leak in Bosch washer Cleaning out the water did get rid of the E-17 code, but after observing a few cycles, it appears there might be a slight leak somewhere. Any ideas? Thanks, #2 01-30-2004, 08:25 PM Anonymous "site-seer" Posts: n/a E17 I had E17 problems on the top dryer of one of my TD30-30 for several months, finally got someone at wascamat that knew what to tell me. On the back of dryer behind the panel that they just sent out the new vented covers on the left side is a black box that has Honeyweld on it with one screw in the box, this screw is a self tapping screw and mine wasn't screwed all the way in, this box is a contact of some sort. I have even put a longer screw and have used lock tite and also lock washers, however every week or so this screw backs out and have to tighten it. Try this see if this is your problem. #3 02-03-2004, 08:35 AM anonymous "site-seer" Posts: n/a Rita, That black box is an ignitor which ignites the gas by generating the spark. Behind that ignitor is a 4-pin plug which must be seated correctly into the socket to make contact. If it is not seated right, there will be no spark and as a result no flame and no heat. If dryer does not sense the flame in few seconds, it will shut off the gas valve and you will get E-17 error. However, that is not the problem in my case. I get spark and burner lighs up for a minute and then goes out. In your case, you should take the ignitor out and reseat it properly to make sure that the pins behind that box is seated properly into the socket. You should align those pins to line up with the socket and then push the ignitor in all the way and then put the screw on. This should solve your problem. Other thing to look for is make sure the plastic on the ignitor box is not melted. If it is then call Wascomat and they will send you the replacement. My best guess is
