it's full of water and refuses to spin. It may indeed be full of water - but not necessarily. This error code is used on what does f05 mean on a hotpoint washing machine some Indesit washing machines too Before a washing machine spins the laundry it needs a signal that the water has pumped away successfully so it knows that it's safe to spin. This error indicates that for various possible reasons it's

not getting that signal. This can be caused by a pump fault or blockage in the filter, but if this is the case then clearly when the fault occurs it should be stuck full of water or at least still have a fair amount inside (if so follow this not draining water guide and help stuck full of water). But if the water has pumped away OK and you still get this error then it's not a pump blockage, it's a fault hotpoint aquarius f05 elsewhere. Suspects are that the pressure switch itself is jammed, (i.e. the switch is physically stuck), or it's being jammed on by air pressure due to a blockage in the pressure chamber bottle at the bottom of the thin tube (connected to the pressure switch). This can hold air pressure in the tube keeping the pressure switch on. In the latter case, pulling off the small tube at the base of the pressure switch should result in an audible click as the pressure is released and the pressure switch springs back to off. Other faults listed as possible causes for this error are faulty connections and even the pcb, which I wouldn't advise replacing. Add washing machine your answer Sign in to answer a question 1 Answer from this member: The "F05" error code is indicating a Water Temperature Sensor Error. Does it take long time for the water to get hot when you initially start it? If the water is cold entering the tub when hot water or warm water is selected it possibly could cause the error. It only makes sense hotpoint washing machine because after you cancel the cycle and restart the washer it does OK because the cold water has been purged. There is a thermistor located on the heating element mounting bracket which is used to monitor the water temperature. The heating element w/thermistor will be located on the lower back portion of the tub. You might find a loose wire connection on the thermistor. You will need to remove the rear panel to access the heater and thermistor. You will need an ohm meter to measure the resistance of the thermistor. See images below for specifications. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord before removing the rear panel. If during the water heating step in the wash cycle, the water temperature sensor (NTC) value is out of range, the "F/05" error code will be displayed. Potential Causes: Check the Water Temperature Sensor Check connections to the Water Temperature Sensor I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your washer. by Joey S Earned 114,256 community points in Click'>Kenmore January 9th, 2009 Comment Give your feedback by voting on answers 0 votes Didn't find what you are looking for?
