Did another wash, all OK until the end. ‘End’ came http://www.washerhelp.co.uk/forums/topic/1382-hotpoint-ultima-wt721-fault-code-f-08/ up in the display briefly then fault code re-appeared. It was only on 800 spin so clothes not completely dry. Looked on Hotpoint website and they don’t list an F 08 code. Rang Hotpoint this morning, no use at all after ages on hold. All they wanted was to get an engineer out! Machine is 5 1/2 years old so just out of warranty! Checked pump filter and removed 20 p piece. Thought that may be it. No fault still occurs. Looked on web for F 08 and get different replies, from heater & pressure switch. Had a look in machine, checked all wires, did notice a lot of carbon deposits underneath on the tiled floor. Blew down pressure switch tube all OK. Checked the drain hose from drum and can not feel anything in it. Ran a test 1200 spin. Daniel T. is online now hello what does it mean when f-08 flashes up on the washing Customer Question hello what does it mean when f-08 flashes up on the washing machine window of a hotpoint ultima washing machine wt741 please and is this serious?? Submitted: 6 years ago. Category:UK Appliance Share this conversation Expert: Daniel T. replied6 years ago. HiF-08 means heater relay stuck. Basically you have a heating problem. What you need to do to check it is pull machine out and take off the inspection cover. From there you will see the heater at the bottom of the drum. Make sure all the wires are ok and not broken. If they are fine then you will need hotpoint washing machine to meter out the heater and the NTC which is in the heater. The heater should give you a reading or about 28 ohms and the NTC should give you a reading in Kohms. But you will need a mulitmeter to test them. Then is any are open circuit then it will need to be replaced. If the heater and the NTC check out ok then the fault is proberbly the control board as thats were the relay is anyway. If you need anymore info just get back to me.Regards Ask Your Own UK Appliance Question Customer: replied6 years ago. hi, really sorry im a woman and have no clue as to what the heater should or will look like i believe i have found the motor which has a rubber pully and a tangle of copper wires and maybe the dirty water pump??? but what does the heater look like please help as im trying my best, thanks Expert: Daniel T. replied6 years ago. HiOk if you are looking at the machine from the back you will see the motor on the left. On the right of that you will see a metal bracket in the back of the drum with 2 wires either end. This is the heater. Then you will see 2 thin wires going to a black plastic cover. This is the NTC.So just make sure the wires arnt broken or loose. Giv
