Open Windows Media Player and access the Tools Menu and select OPTIONS. If the Tools Menu isn't showing, click on the down arrow that is up by the Close box. Once you see the OPTIONS window, click on the DEVICES tab then click on your CD drive and click the PROPERTIES button. Media Player and this fucking thing won't work. It says that two of the tracks won't copy, so it tells me to turn on "error correction" and it'll try it again. But I can't find the "error correction" tab!!!!! :bawl:  :mad2: :redhot: http://www.marijuana.com/community/threads/error-correction-in-windows-media-player.202338/ :nuke: :splat: :nono: :shakehead It's getting really annoying, I've searched all over their help menu and it won't tell me where the box is to check this option. Anyone familiar with this? I've tried everything I can think of and I can't http://www.whathifi.com/forum/computer-based-media/windows-media-player-error-correction find this fucking thing. blondie0420, Aug 30, 2006 #1 Darque Pervert Jive Honkey Windows media player is a pice of shit for handling optical media. I recommend latching onto software that is designed for creating, writing, copying and authoring optical windows media discs (CDs & DVDs). My preference is Nero, but there are other packages out there. Is the CD a pure audio CD or is it a mixed mode thing with videos and stuff in another track? Also, is it one of those copy-protected discs that are setup specifically to prevent copying on a PC? Just curious... Darque Pervert, Aug 30, 2006 #2 blondie0420 Locks of Gold It's just a normal audio CD. It's got 18 tracks on it and 3-18 copied fine but windows media player 1 and 2 won't copy for whatever reason. I normally use a thing called Sonic something or other to copy CDs and it works just fine. When I tried this particular CD with that program, it didn't work at all, it kept telling me to load a CD when I already had. Maybe something could be wrong with the CD, but it plays just fine in a CD player - no skips or anything. I suppose I could always download the first two songs from another source and get them that way, but I didn't really want to have to do that. blondie0420, Aug 31, 2006 #3 Shutterdragon Subscriber If nothing else you could download a program like itunes or nero and use that? Nero is a good one indeed... but i use itunes,,, its really simple, just a drag and drop sorta thing. Makes life easy .
