Windows media center can no longer record TV shows. When I tried to watch live TV it said I had http://batcmd.com/windows/7/services/ehrecvr/ no tuner card. larryecook, Apr 4, 2011 #1 Sponsor leroys1000 Banned Joined: Aug 15, 2007 Messages: 6,319 Is your computer set ot go to standby when you shut down? If so,do a hard restart from the start menu. It helps to windows media restart every once in a while to reset the ehome services. Optimization in media center settings resets everything, but most people disable that as it can be a pain. leroys1000, Apr 4, 2011 #2 larryecook Thread Starter Joined: Jul 31, 2008 Messages: 177 It is set to go to sleep. I Don't think that is what is causing the Problem. I always set it to go to sleep so it sleeps when it not recording shows. That has always worked fine The Trouble started when I windows media center installed a video converter called Format Factory I tried uninstalling it but that did not help. larryecook, Apr 10, 2011 #3 leroys1000 Banned Joined: Aug 15, 2007 Messages: 6,319 The ehreciever service is tied to the TV tuner. It can hang periodically. If the computer goes to standby while there is an error, it will just save that state when it sleeps and resume in the same condition. That is why I suggested doing a hard restart from the start menu. It will reset the tuner drivers and usually get it going again. Restarting won't affect your recording schedule or power settings. It just gives windows a clean start and reloads all the drivers. leroys1000, Apr 10, 2011 #4 larryecook Thread Starter Joined: Jul 31, 2008 Messages: 177 How do I do a hard restart? larryecook, Apr 10, 2011 #5 leroys1000 Banned Joined: Aug 15, 2007 Messages: 6,319 Click the start button at the left of the taskbar where you go to start programs. There should be a shutsown button. Next to that a little arrow that opens a menu. Click that and click restart. leroys1000, Apr 10, 2011 #6 larryecook Thread Starter Joined: Jul 31, 2008 Messages: 177 Okay I tried restarting that did not help. larryecook, Apr 14, 2011 #7 leroys1000 Banned Joined: Aug 15, 2007 Messages: 6,319 Hmmm. Might be the drivers got currupted. Try uninstalling the tuner drivers, restarting, the reinstalling them. Restart the computer. Then try rerunning the TV setup from tasks in media center. Might also
