Previously, I would get the message - "Download Migration license" from Microsoft. This was always successful. Now, when I try to, the download is successful, but it will not open. Windows 7 now, previously - XP home. I think the version of Media player - now 12 - might be the problem, and I might go back a few versions if that will solve it. Thanks, Paul Installed all updates - none available, PSCO2007, Sep 24, 2012 #3 PSCO2007 Thread Starter Joined: Nov 17, 2008 Messages: 730 This is the download for license. Every time I try to play a ripped CD, Media Player tries to download usage rights / windows media player license from the web using the default browser, but I get this error message... The license cannot be downloaded because your Web browser is not supported. To download a license, you must install Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later. To install the latest version of Internet Explorer, see the Windows Update page. Making IE 11 the default browser does no good. Some are saying to use another media player, but that is ridiculous. There has to be a way to remedy this outside of re-ripping the CDs. I hope IE 11 is not the problem since it is a new browser. For what it's worth, I migrated my music library from XP Home. Evidently, XP added copy protection to some of these ripped files. Any music I rip to Windows 7 is not copy protected. Last edited: 2013/12/13 J. M. It's available in 64bit as well. Neil. retiredlearner, #2 Log in or Sign up to hide
