2008 03:17 PM|Chandreshs74|LINK Facingtrouble with IIS 6.0, any help will be appreciable While accessing:smpwservicescgi.exe, it gets diverted to another .asp page, but gives following errors on the page: "You are not authorized to view this page You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden: Access is http 403 forbidden iis denied" I am having IIS 6 on windows 2003, on one of the environment, but worked fine in other two environment with iis5.0. Trouble shooting till now: 1) enabled directory browsing on the virtual folder of the web site, on both the virtual folder where .exe & .asp pages are located. 2) Verified NTFS & IIS permissions, on both the place where .exe & .asp pages are located. 3) On IIS front tried with anonymous access & also provided with the integrated windows authentication, on both thevirtual folderwhere .exe & .asp pages are located 4) tried checking other post on the site, could not get much help. Let me know if anything else which i can give it a try to rectify this trouble. Thanks for the help. I'm just getting a "403 forbidden" error when trying to accesss the root. Right now the app is only one page, so there are no others to try out. I noticed there is no longer a default.aspx in the root to handle default requests, could this maybe be the 403 forbidden access problem? Or is there some special config needed for IIS 6? asp.net asp.net-mvc iis-6 asp.net-mvc-3 share|improve this question edited Oct 27 '13 at 8:05 Jeroen 24.5k1673118 asked Nov 15 '10 at 16:44 boomhauer 3,59254372 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote accepted It depends. If you are using extensionless routes then yes there's a special config. share|improve this answer answered Nov 15 '10 at 16:52 Darin Dimitrov 687k15824952373 I turned on wildcard mapping for now. bleh ;) –boomhauer Nov 15 '10 at 17:25 I found wildcard mapping solved the problem - was using ASP.Net 4 and MVC3 on IIS6/Windows 2003 and in spite of the "should just work" idea introduced with MVC3 it didn't for me. –glenatron Apr 18 '12 at 9:43 1 This works particularly if you are getting 403 errors. If you apply this step and are getting 404 errors, try the following : twentyeighttwelve.com/… –David Keaveny May 3 '12 at 0:53 add a comment| up vote 4 down vote I've just deployed an MVC3 RC app on IIS6.0+win2003 server recently, To get the route works correct ,all your should do is to intall .net framework4.0. see this blog post from Haacked: http://haacked.com/archive/2010/12/22/asp-net
