An Error Occurred When Demoting The Active Directory Domain Controller

A need to install Exchange Server 2003 and need to install a Domain Controller (Active Directory) though the Configure Your Server Wizard. I managed to get the DNS server installed an error occurred when demoting the active directory domain controller 2012 (that was fun) and get to the very end of the wizard but get the following dialog error: Dialog Title: Active Directory Installation Wizard The operation failed with the following Error: A general network error occurred. I ran netdiag and the only thing that failed was: NetBT transports test. . . . . . . : Failed List of NetBt transports currently configured: [FATAL] Unable to retrieve transport list from Redir. [NERR_WkstaNotStarted] Any help would be appreciated.
