Now a day later the snap in fails sighting it can't find the SBS. If I run Get-OrganizationalUnit and Get-DomainController http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=39342 in EMS I get my only two new DCs not the SBS server. My DNS and ADSI Edit have no references to the SBS server yet the snap in keeps trying to use it. How do I change it or what is the EMS command for Setting the Organization Configuration's Configuration Domain Controller and Domain? scorp508 Ars Legatus Legionis Tribus: Boston, MA Registered: Apr 24, 2006Posts: 10150 Posted: Tue Mar 16, 2010 8:43 am If you right-click the org and hit properties there should be a window that allows you to either statically choose a GC or select on dynamically. nathaniel Ars Praefectus Registered: Feb 10, 2002Posts: 3913 Posted: Tue Mar 16, 2010 9:24 am quote:Originally posted by scorp508:If you right-click the org and hit properties there should be a window that allows you to either statically choose a GC or select on dynamically. If I try that I can't even select the domain because it keeps failing with Get-Domain error. Once I got the domain to show up but then trying to select the GC failed saying it can't get any info from Get-OrganizationConfiguration. Manually running both Get-Domain and Get-OrganizationConfiguration shows lots of info without any SBS server entries or it's IP... nathaniel Ars Praefectus Registered: Feb 10, 2002Posts: 3913 Posted: Tue M

Solved Exchange 2010 - Active Directory error 0x51 LDAP Posted on 2012-05-21 Exchange Active Directory 1 Verified Solution 7 Comments 4,287 Views Last Modified: 2014-04-14 Hi all. We've got two domain controllers. The second is a new one. First DC ist an active directory Windows 2008 Standard, second Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise. The Exchange Server is 2010 Standard Service Pack 2. We need the second DC for failover if the first goes down. We tried this szenario (shut down the first domaincontroller) but Exchange is not work on. We tried to Add the second DC as PreferredServer with the "Set-ADServerSettings" Command in the PowerShell. [PS] C:\>Set-ADServerSettings -PreferredServer dc2.local We get the following error message: An Active Directory error 0x51 occured when trying to check the suitability of server dc2.local 'Active Directory response: The LDAP server is unavailable. The Exchange is pointing in his networksettings primarly to dc1 and alternatively to dc2. Go to Solution 7 Com
a particular one). Tried to search but the articles I found were for Exchange 2003 and reference a different error. We are using Exchange 2010. The error I am getting is Warning: Failed to reset the target mailbox after the move. Error details: An Active Directory error 0x51 occurred when trying to check the suitability of server 'HQ-DC1.domain.uk'. Error: 'Active directory response: The LDAP server is unavailable.' --> The LDAP server is unavailable. The move does actually seem to complete. The only error that I see in the move log is this 22/10/2012 12:59:54 [HQ-HUB1] Failed to delete the Sync state from the target mailbox after the move. Attempt 1/1. Error details: SuitabilityDirectoryException An Active Directory error 0x51 occurred when trying to check the suitability of server 'HQ-DC1.domain.uk'.
